Inconsistencies in WWE
 

Hey gang! I find myself annoyed when it comes to inconsistencies in WWE storylines. I am not sure if this one qualifies as inconsistency but I distinctly remember Jim Ross announcing that Benoit's 18-year odyssey has culminated by winning the World's Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania XX. Little did I know that Benoit had previously won the world title in WCW before he debuted in the WWF.

I find it interesting that his WCW title reign was never acknowledged while Booker had "5-time" deal. Remember when the WWE ignored Taker and HHH's match at Mania X7? How about the time HHH and Stephanie divorced? The return of the anonymous general manager on RAW after his identity was revealed...

I understand that I am nitpicking but I am truly interested in what the other members have to post in this thread.

To be fair, Benoit left WCW pretty much the week or maybe even day after winning the World Title.....

Used to bug the piss out of me but over time I've come to accept and ignore it.

The day after literally so was no time for eve the fans to appreciate and sadly hos career never will be appreciated and justifiably so.

They only put the title on Benoit as they thought he would stay if they gave it to him. But he decided to leave yet WCW still put it on him and did the screwy finish. The next night on Nitro the change was declared void and the title upheld (I don't think it went back to Sid) so it technically didn't happen until Mania 20.

Besides, the WCW title was a joke by that point, better to keep it off the list.

His reign as champion is officially recognized unlike Jericho's first reign as WWF Champion after he defeated Hunter at Syracuse University

Didn't it happen at Bryce Jordan Center in State College, PA? I have no idea if that is the same, or similar place? Haha.

Pretty much whenever wrestlers are credited as "having never tapped out before!!!" even though they have.

Goldberg's 2nd WCW title win wasn't recognised.

I know Steph went from ironing-board to humongous beast and her voice got deeper it's almost like Levesque is turning her into Chyna.

My friends and I noticed that we used to joke that he likes his women manly. After his I'm a lot of things bi quote and seeing how close he was to Shawn we kinda figured he really wanted HBK but Chyna and Stephine were the next best things.

So shocked that Benoit won the belt while in WCW. Legit never knew this happened.

Steph seduced him. He was quite solid with Chyna but whilst he moved on Chyna didn't.

I remember when it happened, I was a 12-year-old mark, and immediately after winning the title, the PPV closed with Nash (who had won the rights to be WCW president earlier that night) confronting Benoit backstage and telling him not to enjoy the title reign for long or something, and how he was gonna strip him or make his life hell or something.

The next night Benoit was gone, and I remember being legit pissed off thinking he pussied out and bailed on WCW because of Nash's threats! :fu:

To be honest, Benoit did pussy out of a lot of things.

But when it came time to kill his family, he did the job.

He did pussy out on life in the process. It's all about perspective. Shit just got dark.
