Should "wrestling journalism" have a certain standard? (Officially sponsored by CHW Backyard Wrestling)

I was disappointed in how wrestling news sites presented the unfortunate death of Hijo del Perro Aguayo. I felt that it was careless and gave the impression that Rey Mystery was directly responsible for it. I don't have much to add at this moment. Feel free to use this thread to have a serious discussion on the topic.

Now, a look back at the top 10 crazy moments in CHW Backyard Wrestling for the calendar year of 2014

Im still upset that rajah had the nerve to tell us that there was a 20% off sale at wwe shop. They passed that off as a news story. So angry. Serious business.

Yes

If its journalism that's real and not kayfab (aka not part of a storyline) it should be kept to a strict standard. Journalists need to treat it like any other important topic but its even more important for company's to deliver the truth. For example CHW takes news seriously if anything is going on, you the fans will be the first to know on

CHW communicates with fans on direct line...no middle man, no BS, just integrity.
Just like wrestling journalism should be

Seriously?

Shisen Kopf 03-23-2015 02:49 PM

CHW is the "real deal" of rasslin promotions.

as much as any other standard of journalism, sure. It was sensationalized and almost completely wrong in most "major news outlets". But so are most stories about things from all walks of life. It's the same with politics, healthcare, legitimate issues, day in and day out, things that actually matter. The majority of modern "mainstream media" is the absolute worst with most things so the silly fake sport with the men in pants pretending to fight doesn't stand a chance.

What? That's disgusting. They should be embarrassed to be seen in public.

Shisen Kopf 03-23-2015 02:53 PM

I'd expect that from the British tabloids but not from an esteemed site such as rajahwwf

Innovator 03-23-2015 02:57 PM

Yeah your beef is with mainstream media coverage, not wrestling newz sites

It's all about that clickbait baby. That is why most online "media outlets" sensationalize things the way they do.
