Booking Rollins going forward
The WWE has a unique situation with Rollins as a champ: he's a beatable heel.
I think Rollins needs to stop winning with his finisher so much. He should be cheating, looking for any underhanded tactic to win. Use J and J Security to help win. Lots of "Flair Pins", rollup holding the tights, cheap ways to win, even against mid carders. On the mic he needs to talk a big game, but be a coward. Try to talk his way out of matches. Offer matches to lower card guys while talking shit to the Main Eventers. Limit the high flying shit. Heels don't pull of crowd pleasing moves. No more of this "cool heel" crap. It'll never work with Rollins. Rollins should go over Orton with a "foot on the ropes" type pin after getting his ass kicked. Same sort of thing with Reigns. Eventually he's going to have to face Brock Lesnar and I'd have Rollins do some sort of brass knuckles deal. It looks like Rollins is being booked weak, but that's qhat he needs to be:weak, spineless, a cowardly heel that keeps looking like he's about to drop the title, only to find some way out. It would fit in with being "the brains" of the Shield. |
He should definitely take cues from JBL's reign

personally i dont like the idea of him being a coward, i loved him holding the belt in Lesners face and laughing that shit was amazing. I want a heel champ who is what Seth Rollins is, an amazing wrestlers whose worked for years to get that big ugly fuckin belt and i want to see his still not cheating bullshit 24/7

I honestly think people forget what a heel is sometimes
|
Gertner, I love every bit of this.
Seriously, he should be booked in such a way that he could realistically lose the title on any given night, and people will be like "Shut up and take my money" to want to be there at the event when it goes down. |
I think Rollins is being booked perfectly at the moment.
|
a heel doesnt mean being a pussy like youre saying why cant he just be an asshole whose really solid in the ring?
|
Sure it does. Also he's scrawny, slimey, and a whiner, and he's very good at it. Now exaggerate it and you have a money heel.
|
JBL had one of the best heel runs of the modern era and the man who finally dethroned him became one of the biggest stars ever.
|
While him acting like he has big nuts was cool (walikng up to Lesnars face with the belt)
He really should be such a sniveling coward till people will pay to see him get his ass kicked Also have him try to hide behind Triple H and Stephine's power pretty much at all times but escpecially when things don't go his way. |
Seth Rollins is no JBL, though.
Trying to emulate that model definitely would work for him, though. |

If he's a douche but a badass in the ring they are gonna overlook the fact that he's a douche |
Seth Rollins should go watch old tapes of the Nature Boy...woooooooo! Be that heel. Bring back the black scorpion even.
|
JBL was the best heel in the past 10 years and it's not even close.
|
Wait, he was a heel? I always cheered for him. Especially when he did that promo at the border.

I agree. I think the key to a great heel is they have to be a chicken shit but be a vicious hardnosed bastard when they cheat and get the advantage. Cowering until they can be opportunistic and be a prick. They aslo need to be portrayed as cunning or else you have a dopey, clumsy Chris Jericho circa 2002 run
|
I think you can have a variety of models for heels. However, Gertner is 100% correct imo. Rollins is a compete shit bag and skimping his way to one title defense after the other, following it up with a bullshit promo talking himself up would work well for him.
|
After Brock won the title and left the first time, pretty much the entire main event was just guys who wanted to beat up Seth Rollins first. Back when Dean Ambrose was actually relevant and "hot" and eventually got Rollins in a Hell in a Cell "where he couldn't run".
