Boom Periods, etc...

While thinking about a previous thread about Brock Lesnar being the face of new boom period, I wanted to support the case but could not due to his schedule. However, by handcuffing themselves with his availability, I feel that WWE has whiffed on the next boom period and a lot of money/exposure.

Rock+Wrestling/Hulkamania- Considered the first boom period, this 8 year period, or there abouts, was targeted towards kids and families, thus doing HUGE business and setting standards for professional wrestling.

NWO/Attitude Era- This era was more hip and boundary pushing, essentially tailor made for young adults (high school and college age), and was also HUGE business for WWE.

Present day- Brock Lesnar is like no one that Vince has ever had... he's as accomplished in MMA as Ken Shamrock, but more well known due to the sports cultural relevance today. He's more interesting and compelling than Dan Severn. He has the greatest manager of all-time, mainstream credibility, and he brings a realism and feeling of "danger" seldom seen I professional wrestling.

In short, an era based around Brock Lesnar ,and ESPN's recent embraced of pro wrestling due to his presence, could provide WWE an audience they have not yet conquered-- adults. With the PG stuff for kids, Lesnar mauling people for adults, and the work rate guys in the mid card and uppercard for hardcore fans, it seems like money is just waiting to be printed.

It truly is unfortunate that Brock's contract situation has tied the hands of WWE, because they might have something big on the horizon otherwise.

I think I agree with what you're saying. What are we supposed to discuss here, though?

Fignuts 04-10-2015 01:19 PM

Lamas

Everyone discuss Lamas.

WWE already tried to build the next era around Lesnar, and then he fucked off. And that's not much different than how he is now.

Fignuts 04-10-2015 02:16 PM

Having a difficult time understanding what that has to do with Lamas, Rammsteinmad.

The picture was to throw everyone off.

Congratulations road doggy dogg. You have passed the Fignuts Lama test.

CSL 04-10-2015 03:44 PM

lol once created a character on WWF WreslteMania 2000 on the N64 called Reno Raines. This is almost certainly where Vince got the idea for Roman Reigns from.

The Condor 04-10-2015 03:46 PM

Alpacas > llamas

CSL 04-10-2015 03:56 PM

road doggy dogg 04-10-2015 03:58 PM

Can Alpacas and Llamas breed? Do they make a sterile Alpama, like horses and donkeys make mules.
