Saying I'm humbled and honored by this opportunity to be part of TNA, a world-class wrestling organization, is an understatement and a dream come true...I'm fully committed to using my 30 years of entertainment experience...to take on the thrilling challenge of creatively contributing to IMPACT WRESTLING, finding and developing new talent, and working eye-to-eye with the best-of-the-best. For as cultures currently evolve at great speed, so must pro wrestling meet and supersede such expectations to thrive.

Sixx 04-27-2015 02:23 PM

Weird. Not as weird as the cast of Full House being in charge of Chikara, but still.

I always enjoyed The Blue Blazer

Any publicity is good publicity I guess. Should make some nice storylines.

SIDEBOOB

Hanso Amore 04-27-2015 04:20 PM

I love that the guy "goes to sleep" on a move that is meant to damage the arm, not restrict air flow.

NICE BOOKING TNA I MEAN CHW

ITS THE UNBEARABLE PAIN

Hanso Amore 04-27-2015 04:22 PM

Its a real shame that all the hard work these guys put into what would have been a 5 star match was ruined by poor booking.

The gold standard of turning shit into gold. There is literally nothing about this gimmick that should have worked. No-selling, not speaking, supernatural powers, and a manager whose name was "Paul Bearer."

But Callaway and Moody made that garbage into one of the five greatest careers in the history of the business.

Evil Vito 04-27-2015 04:43 PM

Doink. Wrestling clown should have been nothing more than a joke gimmick. Instead Heel Doink wound up being one of the best things ever.

drave 04-27-2015 04:46 PM

Pics > the action.

Chimera 04-27-2015 04:47 PM

Manson from the early days of CHW was a pretty bad gimmick but boy did I love it!
I wish Manson would return.

Evil Vito 04-27-2015 04:47 PM

Goldust also comes to mind behind the obvious ones like Taker, IRS, etc.

Dustin Rhodes absolutely owned the gimmick no matter how ridiculous it got. He was boring as hell without the gimmick but thanks to the great work he did getting the character over he's been rehired countless times and is still going strong at 46.

Rammsteinmad 04-27-2015 04:59 PM

Do people even care about Billy Corgan anymore?

And lol at "a world-class wrestling organization".

CSL 04-27-2015 05:13 PM

Shisen Kopf 04-27-2015 05:22 PM

Can't wait for the overhyped announcement on TV that will change wrestling forever.

Sixx 04-27-2015 06:06 PM

REAL Nathan Naturals appears to be wearing suit pants.

Business downstairs, party upstairs, baby.

#1-norm-fan 04-27-2015 06:52 PM

Not that weird. He's run his own indy promotion for years now and I think it's actually drawn some decent crowds over the years for an indy promotion. It's not as random as it sounds.

Damian Rey 04-27-2015 07:08 PM

You mean buffet upstairs.

Damian Rey 04-27-2015 07:12 PM

Umaga. A non speaking, Samoan savage gimmick complete with tribal face paint, taped feet, a handler and a thumb poke for a finish had no right being over as it was for as long as it was.

But, it worked. Really well. Umaga was always a decent threat and never turned into a comedic shtick, and was able to get to the point of not needing a manager to cut his promos but still staying relevant.

Sixx 04-27-2015 07:17 PM

There's sideboob, there's party.

Bad News Gertner 04-27-2015 08:05 PM

Lol I fucking LOVED Glacier as a kid. As a 16 year old, it was Sub-Zero come to life. Plus his entrance was bad ass.

Bad News Gertner 04-27-2015 08:09 PM

Anyone remember Barry "hole in one" Darsow? He'd bring a putting green to the ring and make a jobber attempt a putt, and then nail the jobber with a putter after the dude missed the putt?

WCW Saturday Night 2000 gold my friend.

Lol I was also a big High Voltage fan

Dark One 04-27-2015 08:48 PM

Yeah, to be fair, as long as TNA doesn't overhype this like the second coming of Jesus Christ--which they probably will do, he's actually got some background and this really isn't that different then them picking up some other indy booker.

But this is TNA, so I'm sure they'll spend twenty minutes of one of their next shows hyping up an earthshattering announcement for it.
