Did Akira Toriyama write the GT series or bailed out by then?

Either way this should be a lot better than GT was overall. Also think calling it Super Dragon Ball might have been a better name.

GT was not him up until the last story arc. All the new DBZ media completely ignores GT so I imagine this will follow suit and remain in that Buu Saga sweetspot that was my personal fave era of DBZ in regard to characters.

My thing is just how much stronger can they get Just these 2 movies have insane power ups.

In that past the movies were non-canon and used where the show was at the time for settings and characters. This may be the case again.

I'm figuring the series is going to be more or less a continuation of the 'God' storyline brought in the previous movie and semi-continued in the new one.

Except when the movies were cannon and the series was a continuation directly from them. Garlic jr for example.

I almost forgot Garlic Jr was canon.

Apparently they want to go back to being more lighthearted with this series. Like the original DB.

Pretty sure he appeared as filler and that was uncommon.

On one hand, I like Dragonball more than Z, and feel it's aged better despite the inferior animation.

On the other hand GT started out with a lighthearted, dragonball-style tone and it was fucking awful.

The winning combination lies somewhere between the original and Z. The action from Z with the humor of the original. Would be epic.

I prefer DB and even DBGT for their whimsy humor and sense of adventure over DBZ so i really support this. Battle of Gods really hit the nail on the head for me from what i want out of new DB.
