Lets talk about Dolph Ziggler

I wanna start by saying i just watched hm cash in the MITB on Del Rio and man i love the look of Ziggler, AJ and Big E, they looked so good together. The man can sell like a motherfucker and puts on great matches( like the brief back and forth he had with Bryan weeks ago). Id love to see him win the MITB again and cash in again but i think he would need heel turn, hes a good face and hes super over but hes a really good heel and he plays a good heel champ. Thoughts?

Mr. Nerfect 05-14-2015 06:22 PM

I like Dolph, and he's basically a perfect wrestler according to some, but I just don't see a "heavy" quality about his character just yet. It's like he's too glossy or something. I think what I want to see is a feud that pushes and bends Dolph to the limit and forces him into darker territory. No, not a "snap" and "submission machine" situation -- but I sort of feel like he's currently "Stunning" Steve, when he should really evolve into "Stone Cold."

Heyman 05-17-2015 05:58 PM

I get what Noid is saying.

I don't know about Ziggler anymore to be honest. I think the time to really push him was a few years ago (when he 'cashed in' on ADR), but he made some dumb comments in the media that lead to the WWE souring on him. Unfortunately with Ziggler, I don't think he's going to go much higher than he is now. IC/US title is very likely, but I think his chances of possibly being a consistent main-eventer is slim to none now.

Rammsteinmad 05-17-2015 08:26 PM

Noid's suggestion could lead to something like this...

Fignuts 05-17-2015 09:15 PM

Dolph has the look, charisma, mic skills, and in-ring talent to be a huge star. He just needs to develop his character more, and create a more interesting personality.

Shisen Kopf 05-17-2015 09:19 PM

He needs to drop the Dolph and just be Ziggler. Then maybe shorten that to Zig. Instant champ material.

Fignuts 05-17-2015 09:22 PM

Survivor Series was a great jumping off point to do that.

But they didn't. Jerks.

I think part of them souring on him was also just the fact that he didn't seem to get an amazing reaction from the crowd after his win that night on RAW. Take away the ability to interact with any and every crowd, add a dash of ill-timed World title win and you've got a recipe for disaster.

I would actually like to see this budding feud with Rusev develop into something meaningful. They'll probably be tangled up in the Elimination Chamber and at Money in the Bank, but by Battleground, they could be ready for a huge blow-off to a one-on-one rivalry.

Ruien 05-22-2015 07:23 AM

Which Rusev will lose because he is already dead to the WWE :(

Isn't there enough homoeroticism in professional wrestling without another blow-off? :shifty:

That is the problem, he has for the most part always lacked a personality. He seems very generic and needs to somehow be interesting.

Plus, his name is awful.

When your best attribute is taking bumps, you should be a jobber.

EzekielKane 05-22-2015 03:58 PM

Dolph Ziggler is like Mad Dogg Tyler Smith, he keeps coming back. As a matter of fact, Mad Dogg Tyler Smith is coming back here is what he had to say,

I agree with what you guys said about Dolph Zigker too.

You mean selling? Shawn Michaels says hi.

Stickman 05-23-2015 09:02 AM

Except HBK has it all. Ziggler has some of "it"

Rammsteinmad 05-23-2015 10:13 AM

The only thing Michaels really had over Ziggler is that the roster was nowhere near as packed back in 1996 as it was today.

The Condor 05-23-2015 10:33 AM

For as much as I love what Ziggler can do as well as his attitude, I can't help but accept the fact that he may be one of the most stale wrestlers on the roster these days. He needs to change some things up to be taken seriously as a main event, big time guy. I can't put my finger on it, whether it be a face/heel issue, or even his offense.

I'd love it, for one thing, if he'd go back to using the Sleeper.

Wishbone 05-23-2015 10:59 PM

Ziggler is great. Probably one of the best on the roster today. He could use with a bit of an image upgrade though. Maybe trim the hair shorter but keep the platinum blonde look and possibly switch to different ring attire since he's worn the same thing since his debut. Long tights or maybe some HBK style chaps/pants. Could use a slight attitude tweak too. Make him a bit more serious but still cocky.

Mr. Nerfect 05-23-2015 11:38 PM

I really wanted to see a heel turn for Ziggler sometime this year. I don't know what the context would be, but the dude was so great as that heel that you sort of wanted to see succeed with his schemes. If he decided to blow The Authority and stop struggling against them, he could be one of the hottest heel acts in the company.

But it doesn't seem the right time for any of that now. He'll play pinball for Rusev and get him back over. I thought Sheamus would be walking out of the Elimination Chamber with the Intercontinental Championship, but now I'm not too sure. I could honestly see Ziggler or Rusev winning the thing, then the two trading the title around a little bit between them.

I'd also be somewhat interested in a Ziggler vs. Bray Wyatt feud. This would probably happen towards the end of summer or the fall. Come winter time would probably be the best time to turn Dolph, in time for a WrestleMania program against someone The Authority hates. Ziggler vs. Orton at WrestleMania?

OssMan 05-23-2015 11:41 PM

Ziggler's great. HBK was better than him in every way though.
