Match of year 2015
Wondering what everyone else's match of the year was for 2015 ?
Re watching the triple threat match for world title at royal rumble forgot how good Seth Rollins was that night .. That has to be a contender ? |
becky lynch vs sasha banks
nxt takeover |
Yeah, gotta be something from NXT where there was some actual drama behind the match. Bayley vs Sasha maybe.
The first Cena-Owens match is the only main roster match I remember seeing that I can think of off the top of my head as a MOTY candidate. |
Rollins/Brock/Cena from the Rumble takes it as far as I'm concerned. So unique and original, as well as damn entertaining and excellent work/storytelling.
Nikky Chance vs Swede Savard
Miniak vs Swede Savard was better. That's the real match of the year.
Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks Takeover
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks NXT Brookyln Cena vs. Owens the First One Cena vs. Cesaro at some RAW Cena vs. Sami Zayn at some RAW Those are the ones that immediately come to my mind. Probably some more Cena matches. |
Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan
Bayley vs. Sasha Banks - NXT Women's Championship, NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, August 22, 2015. Nothing else came anywhere near close to touching that match.
Need to think more about it but leaning towards Bayley vs Sasha at NXT Takeover.
Either of the Cena/Owens matches, Cena/Cesaro, Bryan/Reigns, Rollins/Cena, Rollins/Lesnar/Cena... there's been loads of good ones this year.

What year were those Neville/Zayn matches in NXT? Were those last year already? |
2014.
Can't decide which of the 3 Sasha matches takes it. The iron man match doesn't get alot of credit because it was only at Full Sail and was a rematch that Bayley was gonna win. Marked out for old school heel moves from Sasha when she stole Izzy's headband and made her cry.
Sasha v Bailey at takeover Brooklyn for me. Beautiful storytelling, beautiful match, maybe the crowd pop of the year as well.
Also, both the Summer Slam and HITC matches between Lesnar and Taker were stellar.

Think I might change my answer to sasha vs bayley at takeover brooklyn now that I think about it.
Lynch vs sasha was the better match technically, but tje bayley match had a way better build and had much more emotion, which puts it over I think. |
Yeah, the emotion of that mstch really helped carry it. I still get goosebumps every time I think bsck on how that match made me feel emotions I didn't know I had or was capable of. Just amazing.
Had to go look up what the hell happened at Wrestlemania this year, because usually people nominate matches from there, but I don't think anybody has even brought it up....
Best match on it was Cena/Rusev I think.... Which was a good match, but I think Cena has had better since.... |
I really liked the entrance to that match but it wasn't the greatest of the year.
Vince McMahon vs ratings = best match of the year
Kane vs Big Show a close second
Lesnar/Cena/Rollins
Cena/Owens Cena/Cesaro Reigns/Bryan prob lots more I am forgetting, there were a lot of good matches in twenty fifteen |
Did Billy Gunn wrestle in twenty fifteen? If so, he was probably in a better match than any of the other nobodies that wrestle consistently in twenty fifteen.
He wrestled with being FIRRRRRRRRED for cheating in power lifting.
tonight's triple threat tag ladder match

If it's not nominated for a Slammy for Match of the Year........

Rollins/Brock/Cena (RR), Reigns/Brock/Rollins (WM), Bryan/Reigns (FL), Tanahashi/Nakamura (G1), Tanahashi/Okada (WK) Kota/AJ etc. Probably be between the Rumble triple threat or the G1 final if I had to pick just one
then again I really liked the Mania main event. DUNNO
