BREAKING: John Cena OUT w/ injury, to require shoulder surgery

I guess for my first WM I "can't see him"

John Cena revealed that he's having shoulder surgery tomorrow and will be out of action.

Cena last wrestled on December 30th at a WWE live event in Canada against WWE United States Champion Alberto Del Rio. He did not appear on Monday's RAW but appeared at the SmackDown tapings in a non-wrestling role.

We will keep you updated on this developing story. Cena tweeted the following today:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Rather upside down start to 2016 as tomorrow I will head to Birmingham for shoulder surgery. Life's full of set backs but <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/nevergiveup?src=hash">#nevergiveup</a></p>&mdash; John Cena (@JohnCena) <a href="https://twitter.com/JohnCena/status/684920619247337474">January 7, 2016</a></blockquote>

He'll be in the Rumble and bury everyone bad shoulder and all and win the title :nono:

Bad News Gertner 01-06-2016 09:44 PM

I hope he does and then urinates in Dean Ambrose's mouth

Wouldn't happen, but would LOVE to see a one off match between Brock Lesnar and Minoru Suzuki. Don't even bother informing Cole who Suzuki is, just refer to him as a "Japanese Star."

Suzuki holds his own, as JBL is like "the name sounds familiar, Maggle." Two Germans. Lesnar attempts a third, but Suzuki counters with a front flip into a knee bar. Then JBL remembers that Suzuki was a former student of Karl Gotch and an MMA legend.

Dunno, for some reason, the match seems awesome on paper.

GD 01-06-2016 10:22 PM

Wow! That sucks for the WWE. I must applaud them for not debuting top NXT stars just to fill up the void.

Emperor Smeat 01-06-2016 10:25 PM

So that scratches the possible Rumble winners to just Reigns, Triple H, and Lesnar now?

At least it explains why he barely was used for RAW and Smackdown this week.

That is all gravy compared to what would be the greatest entrance ever

DAMN iNATOR 01-06-2016 11:04 PM

Hate to say it, but it looks like the writing on the wall is becoming ever larger and clearer for Cena.

road doggy dogg 01-06-2016 11:07 PM

AJ Styles should win the Rumble

According to reports, Cena has a torn rotator cuff. Normal recovery is between 3-6 months but because of his situation, its more towards 6-9 months out. Dr James Andrews is rumored to be the one doing the surgery.

Dark One 01-06-2016 11:16 PM

If anything was going to convince them bring Bryan back, it's this. If he's not back after the Rumble, to avoid the hijack, there's not much of a chance. If he's not back by the night after Wrestlemania? He's gone.

slik 01-07-2016 02:00 AM

I bet we get Taker vs Bram Strowman or Kane for his final match

Corporate CockSnogger 01-07-2016 02:07 AM

Is John Cena more popular now due to the internet meme?

He's more accepted on the internet now, because his game has been on point for around the last 4 years. Every match is anywhere from good to phenomenal, and while he still cracks the silly jokes for the kids, when his promos get serious they're the best in the business.

slik 01-07-2016 03:17 AM

He's more likable now because you only see him once a show and he doesn't feel 'forced down your throat'. Now I look forward to his one appearance instead of being tired of him by the end of the show.

hb2k 01-07-2016 03:31 AM

That fucking SUCKS. Timing of that is truly awful, and we are now down to 4 top level stars who are available to wrestle at Mania.

I can't tell if this is going to be a good thing post-Mania or not. Cena being out the picture you would think forces their hand to build new stars, but I thought the same thing three months ago and we got Sheamus as World Champion and record low ratings. Just looking past whatever they do for Mania, what do they have for Roman Reigns after he beats HHH?

Theo Dious 01-07-2016 08:42 AM

Mania needs to shape up to be heel Reigns vs face Ambrose. Reigns sells out to retain at the Rumble, screwing Ambrose in the process (he can say he finally realized he'did rather be champion with the Authority than be screwed out of it by them, even re-hash Rollins' "buy in" promo.) Ambrose as the runner up seems poised to be #1 contender but has to win a Fatal 4 way or something before getting to Mania (or a 1-on-1 against Sheamus or even HHH.)

Heisenberg 01-07-2016 08:48 AM

This is smelling like a work for him to show up in the Mania main event and turn the tide

Seriously? They're going to work their highest full-time draw into an injury to do a run-in at the biggest show of the year.

Ultra Mantis 01-07-2016 10:24 AM

"Mind if I cut in?"

Damian Rey 01-07-2016 10:35 AM

Triple H to main event at this point. They're so low depth wise, with little time to get guys built up, I can't see how else they find a suitable main eventer to go against Reigns. You could do Lesnar but I feel like the crowd would just turn on Reigns again.

In an attempt to build Roman as the sole Face for the next few months, yes. The next time Cena comes back should be huge and game changing.

Big Vic 01-07-2016 10:44 AM

Roman vs Del Rio?.... i dunno

Vastardikai 01-07-2016 11:18 AM

We might get Taker vs Harper, now.

The CyNick 01-07-2016 03:48 PM

Pretty bad break for WWE. It's incredible how unlucky they have been lately.

They have to hope Rocky can work at Mania.

You could still do HHH v Reigns for the title, Brock v Rock as a special attraction, and Taker v someone like Owens.

slik 01-07-2016 04:02 PM

WM32 Guest Host: The Rock

WWE Title
Roman Reigns (c) v. HHH

Undertaker's Last Ride
Undertaker v. Bram Strowman

No DQ, No Countout
Brock Lesnar v. Kevin Owens

Andre Battle Royal
20 wrestlers

Tag Team Match
New Day v. all the tag teams

US Title
Alberto Del Rio (c) v. Chris Jericho

IC Title
Dean Ambrose (c) v. Sheamus

Diva's Match
multiple divas in a match

Big Vic 01-07-2016 04:13 PM

I think we'll have 2 divas matches this year and a lame attempt to show the divas revolution worked.... Maybe one is on the pre-show.

Big Vic 01-07-2016 04:15 PM

Is Becky Lynch the only diva to be featured on Raw consistently to not have a heel run in 2015?

You're a stupid dumbass.

slik 01-07-2016 04:20 PM

Strowman is being built up as a monster...going to eliminate a ton of people in the Royal Rumble this year...really the only other option for Undertaker's Last Ride is The Demon KANE...Taker/Kane already had their moment together at Survivor Series, Strowman fits.

The Rock helping Roman perhaps as well. I'm kind of glad they slow burned Dean last year. He really is a vital piece of the future main event scene.

johnsmagic 01-07-2016 07:33 PM

With cena, Rollins, orton, sting and ceasaro all out of action does this hurt the chances of breaking wm3 attendance record ?

slik 01-07-2016 07:52 PM

No, they will still likely do that. Most WM tickets are bought in advance and WM sells itself on name each year.

DaveWadding 01-07-2016 08:09 PM

No, because the numbers are made up anyways.

owenbrown 01-07-2016 08:15 PM

doesn't matter.... Cena is coming back at the Rumble bad shoulder and all and burying everyone to win the belt

ron the dial 01-07-2016 08:25 PM

shut the fuck up owenbrown

owenbrown 01-07-2016 08:46 PM

oops, ron said my name again, road doggy dogg is gonna neg him
