My Quicktime has always sounded distorted.

I used to download porn in .mov format but it came out all crappy and distorted.

Now, I need it because there are in-game cutscenes that require Quicktime and it sounds all distorted.

Kinda hard to play when you cant hear the clues.

Any idea on why it does this?

Are you running the latest version of quicktime?
Uninstall and reinstall.
