SmackDown SPOILERS - April 7th, 2016

Quote:

* WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns kicked off SmackDown to boos. Reigns cuts a promo similar to RAW, about how he's "THE" guy, not good or bad. AJ Styles comes out to a big pop and they trade promos. Reigns talks down to AJ and leaves the ring with AJ looking on. Styles and Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho is announced for later.

1 - The Vaudevillains vs. Sin Cara and WWE United States Champion Kalisto is first. Good pop for Aiden English and Simon Gotch for the entrance. Kalisto took the pin after a double team. The Vaudevillains celebrated after the match

2 - Natalya defeated Summer Rae with a Sharpshooter. WWE Women's Champion Charlotte and Ric Flair were on commentary. Charlotte and Natalya had a staredown after the match. Ric Flair got on the mic and said Natalya wasn't in good enough shape to face Charlotte and said if she wanted a shot she would need to cut weight. Charlotte and Ric left while Natalya put one hand on her stomach and pointed at both as they went up the ramp.

* Owen White was seen making out backstage with Alicia Fox.

3 - WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz retained over Zack Ryder. Maryse came out after Ryder and introduced her husband. Maryse ended up interfering, allowing Miz to hit the Skull Crushing Finale for the win. Ryder looked completely dejected after the match.

4 - Apollo Crews defeated Curtis Axel in a fairly quick match. Good pop for Crews.

* Backstage segment with Becky Lynch talking about the WWE Women's Title. Emma interrupts to set up a match

* Backstage segment with Baron Corbin talking about Dolph Ziggler

5 - Dean Ambrose squashed Tyler Breeze. Huge pop for Ambrose. After the match, Chris Jericho came out for the next match and they traded looks on the ramp.

* Vignette for Primo and Epico from Puerto Rico airs

6 - AJ Styles and Cesaro defeated Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens thanks to Sami Zayn distracting Owens, which let AJ roll Owens up for the pin. Owens and Zayn fight after the match and Owens sends Zayn into the ring steps. The Dudley Boyz ran down and attacked AJ in the ring until Roman Reigns made the save. AJ and Reigns cleared the ring and stared each other down. They shook hands, still staring at each other, to end the show.

Volare 04-05-2016 10:37 PM

Trying to turn Reigns?

Ermaximus 04-05-2016 10:46 PM

And the downward spiral of Ryder continues. Good job Vince.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-05-2016 11:12 PM

wonderful, fat angle with Natalya.

slik 04-05-2016 11:30 PM

Maybe Dr. Phil can do a segment w/ Natalya on Monday

slik 04-05-2016 11:30 PM

I could see Dr. Phil doing 'comedy' segments with the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose for some reason

Bad News Gertner 04-05-2016 11:38 PM

Fattie Nattie

My Final Heaven 04-05-2016 11:38 PM

What happened w/ Becky & Emma?

Purgatory 04-06-2016 12:03 AM

Probably on NXT

Corkscrewed 04-06-2016 12:33 AM

So Reigns is going heelish, except not, cuz he's still gonna try to save AJ.

Ya know... half assed stuff.

(I don't have faith that the writers will actually turn Reigns, although that would humorously make AJ Styles Mr. Gullible Friend, having had Jericho and then hypothetically Reigns get chummy and then betray him.)

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2016 09:05 AM

What do the The Dudley Boyz have against AJ Styles? Did I miss something?

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-06-2016 09:13 AM

Oh and I didn't notice (though probably could have given you this spoiler going in), DISTRACTIC FINISH in the main event. Fuck off.

Dvons lazy eye made him think it was Enzo.

Ol Dirty Dastard 04-06-2016 10:11 AM

i like that i accidentally invented the word "distractic"

Heyman 04-06-2016 10:19 AM

I have no idea who a lot of these guys are (i.e. Corbin, Crews, the new tag team that punked out the Dudleys on RAW, etc.), but I like the fact that the WWE are aggressively pushing new talents.

road doggy dogg 04-06-2016 10:21 AM

That last match sounds strange. Why Dudleyz come out? Reigns makes the save? What?

They're all NXT (the WWE's developmental fed) callups

Schlomey 04-06-2016 10:27 AM

aka the good wrestling show

Nice.

I have to give Triple H his props here. From what I understand, he oversees NXT and was largely responsible for developing the training center, etc. The WWE seem to be on the right track in terms of developing and corralling new talents.

Now they just have to figure out a way of maximizing these guys' characters when they come over to the big leagues.

slik 04-06-2016 11:36 AM

if u get bored and have the network/feel like downloading a stream of it, NXT Takeover: Dallas is really, really good.

I think that Gorilla Monsoon once referred to Bobby Heenan as a "distractic presence at ringside.

You literally stole it from him.

KaosDarksol 04-06-2016 04:22 PM

A Primo and Epico debut... can we just release them rather than continue to change their gimmick back and forth.

The vast, vast, vast majority are workrate guys with crossfit bodies and no mic skills, or indy gimmicks that won't translate. Enzo Amore is the only one out of the new crew that brings something to the table.

Ruien 04-06-2016 07:37 PM

That big black guy seemed legit that was on Raw. That emo guy who won the battle royal seems like shit though.

Volare 04-06-2016 07:54 PM

So yay for Apollo Crews.

Nay for Baron Corbin.

Lock Jaw 04-06-2016 08:03 PM

Very nice piped in cheers for Roman. Sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

Lock Jaw 04-06-2016 08:05 PM

Baseball hat AJ Styles shows up for serious business

Is it time to bring back the famous workrate-o-meter??

Shisen Kopf 04-06-2016 08:37 PM

Also, very important question time. What's the verdict?

Nay for Baron Corbin.

Yup. Baron may win me over still but he has meh written all over him. Crews and Big E would be amazing to watch.

Lock Jaw 04-06-2016 09:31 PM

Becky Lynch/Emma segment pretty good.... wish they had it on RAW.....

Lock Jaw 04-06-2016 09:42 PM

Still don't like him, but Mauro with a good line:

SPOILER: show
"Breeze went down faster than Batman vs Superman at the box office!"

Despite the lack of mic skills, Crews brings something to the table. He's built like a brick shithouse and can fly around like a cruiserweight. I'm generally with you on the typical generic indy guys thing but Crews is special.

Lock Jaw 04-06-2016 09:51 PM

It seems like Cesaro's coming out in a suit and ripping it off may be his entrance now.... I kinda hate it. Doesn't fit AT ALL. Especially with that theme.

http://www.pwpix.net/wp/wp-content/u...o-28275506.jpg

Was a perfect look.... That theme would hit and he would walk out with that towel on his head and you would know that someone is gonna get their wig split via uppercuts.

Also he should bring back the arm sleeve

http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/im...630&h=420&q=75

Was also a perfect look for him because it gave him something that "stands out" and it highlighted the fact that you should watch out for his arm and the uppercuts that will come from it.

Not even wearing any wrist tape now, just looks very bland....

Should have stuck with what was working before his injury.

Volare 04-06-2016 10:11 PM

I thought he looked more bad ass as "dressed to kill" Cesaro.

#1-norm-fan 04-06-2016 10:46 PM

He should still be a Paul Heyman guy.

Corkscrewed 04-07-2016 05:05 AM

BTW, why did Kallisto take the pin against the new guys instead of Sin Cara? Way to make your US Title meaningful.

road doggy dogg 04-07-2016 09:19 AM

I love the suit ripping intro. Makes me think of him as Jason Statham

I don't get it, hasn't the movie made like $200M
