He's always been one of these people that, though my feelings towards him have ranged from artistic respect to eye rolling exasperation, I felt like it was good to have someone like him around.

Some may disagree but I think, at least to me, the shock of loosing Elvis...

This is like when MJ/Farrah died on the same day.

I wonder if his passing will lead to more people telling stories about their interactions with him, like Kevin Smith, Charlie Murphy, and ?uestlove... and how many of said stories will involve basketball?

This sucks. Always liked Prince. The singer yes, the actor not so much. Also one of the people who always stuck to his roots. Definitely one of Minnesota's favorite sons. His sound was unique, and was one of the best in the business with a guitar, IMO.

R.I.P. Prince. Thanks for the soundtrack to Batman, making Purple cool, and for probably one of the best Super Bowl halftime shows ever.

:'(

Gonna go dig out my "Best of" CD now and put it on my car.

just hope he didn't have a request for his archives to be destroyed so we can eventually hear it all

Not gonna lie and say I was a huge fan or anything, but this is still pretty gut wrenching. Even if I was never his biggest fan I can still appreciate his contributions to the world. Man, 2016 really needs to go fuck itself already. By the end of the year there won't be a damn celebrity left. :(

Found it kinda hardvto believe that Batdance is 1 of his only 5 #1 Hits and most of his popular songs didnt mske it to #1

I have a friend who has a friend that worked with/for Prince and he now has his hands on hundreds of unreleased songs. I've seen the pix..it's legit. He said there are hundreds more to come. Plenty of releases coming soon is my guess....The material are on CD's not records or anything like that so they are already mixed/mastered and ready to mass produce.

The rumor is enough music to last a century at one album a year, tons of unreleased music videos and a few full length movies
