Bit of an odd find on a WWE.com retro gallery.
 

[Let's keep meme talk/pics to a minimum in this thread.]

WWE put up a gallery of the '50 Coolest Nicknames of All Time' picture gallery, and included 'The Heartbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels on that list.

The pic below shows Shawn in a tag match, doing an elbow drop onto Randy Orton. But that's not the focus of the pic.

Take a look in the ring corner behind the ref. I'm not really sure, but I think that the one in the corner, looking like he's sucking wind, could be Chris Benoit.

Now, this is only speculation on my part, but if that pic does indeed have Benoit in it, is it possible that WWE's upper management may have gotten to the point where they CAN be able to separate the Benoit character from the IRL version of Chris enough, to where they may now feel comfortable enough to include his visage in one of their retro galleries?

A new hire prolly compiled the list and he slipped through. I doubt WWE's opinion has softened any.

Yeah. And it shouldn't, to be fair. Regardless of separating his in-ring character to his real-life act, as a public image it's still within reason for WWE to not want to associate with him.

It's a shame, he's one of my all-time faves, but I understand it and I have no problem with it.

However, was "The Rabid Wolverine" or "The Crippler" on the list?

Yeah we should be thankful that we have him on WWE Network for his matches rather then anything else.
