Who can wwe sign for the nxt women's division

With Bayley likely leaving for raw soon, that leaves Asuka and Ember Moon, as far as top class talent goes. There are some other women that have potential, but they're quite a ways off from being main event level, and wwe doesn't have time to wait for them to get there. If they want to keep this division at the level it's been built to, they're going to need a few experienced talents on asuka and moons level, while the newbies get better.

So who is out there that would be a good sign? I'm super out of the loop when it comes to indy women. Always thought mschif was amazing, but she's pretty old by now. Though she could fill a similar role in the women's division that joe or shinsuke fills with the men.

VSG 08-20-2016 03:44 PM

I think the current crop needs to improve first before just hiring others. Too many ladies just training otherwise. The male talent is extremely strong at the moment and will get more so with CWC guys joining in.

Simple Fan 08-20-2016 03:45 PM

Lei'D Tapa and Velvet Sky are two I'd like to see.

Frank Drebin 08-20-2016 03:48 PM

Let's give Ember, Peyton, Billie, Mandy, that Scottish chick and Aliya or whatever a chance before we look for free agents. Can always poach an Iveleese or sexy star from Lucha whenever you want.

I'm not talking about hiring a whole group, just a couple more experienced workers. Not only will thst give asuka and moon more equals to work with, but it will help the less experienced women improve faster.

Emperor Smeat 08-20-2016 05:05 PM

No need since the WWE is basically following the previous cycles with NXT's women division. It only looks a bit more thin star-wise this time is due to the Brand Split rushing the last cycle.

By the time Moon and Asuka are ready for their own call-ups within a year or two, the current crop of lesser experienced women would be ready to take over the reigns of the division and the cycle repeats.

Fignuts 08-20-2016 05:14 PM

What do you do in the mean time? Asuka vs Ember Moon for a whole year? BecauseI'm watching the current crop and they need a lot of work before they can be a believable challenger to those two.

I've been expecting Bubba Ray Dudley to flex some friendship muscle and try to get Velvet Sky in the WWE for some time now.

Nothing yet, unless she got no interest.

ClockShot 08-20-2016 05:43 PM

And then, there's always the day TNA folds up and WWE poaches half the talent from there.

Whoever's there not named Gail Kim these days.

Fignuts 08-20-2016 05:48 PM

Really wish wwe hadn't treated Gail Kim like dog shit, because she'd be perfect for this role. Can't see her coming back even if they ask.

Mr. Nerfect 08-20-2016 05:48 PM

The problem with Velvet Sky is that she is a massive racist/homophobe on Twitter. Or something of the like. Bubba Ray is constantly defending her bigotry.

Mr. Nerfect 08-20-2016 05:50 PM

Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are finding their gimmicks. Aliyah is down there. Daria. Liv Morgan has got that spunky blonde New Jersey shtick going on. Mandy Rose is developing down there. Nikki Cross somehow got to use "Nikki" as a name. I imagine that Santana Garrett might be signed. They'll be fine.

Everyone comes back if the money is there (del rio) and/or enough time has passed (Bret, Warrior, Sammartino)

Frank Drebin 08-20-2016 05:54 PM

In spite of what I said above, bring back Awsome Kong/Kharma. The entrance music was epic and she's a bona-fide monster.

Fignuts 08-20-2016 05:55 PM

So no one is worried about the nxt women's divison maintaining the momentum they've worked so hard to build with only 2 credible workers? You all think that all tjese new girls are going to improve fast enough, even though all currently perform like shit in comparison to what we've become accustomed to?

Y'all have a lot of faith. A lot of faith.

Mr. Nerfect 08-20-2016 06:01 PM

* Evie is a cute girl that has worked against Nia Jax before. She's from New Zealand, and they don't currently have a girl from NZ. Put her in black and slap a silver fern onto her tights as an aesthetic. Evie vs. Eva Marie -- All Black Everything vs. All Red Everything.

* I hear good things about Shazza McKenzie in the ring, but they might already have enough Aussie girls. If the idea is to get them better though. Kellie Skater also belongs in that conversation, but they might be girls that get signed for a tournament down the line. You'd think they'd have taken a look at Madison Eagles. I don't know how keen she'd be to up-end her family and relocate to the States.

* Kimber Lee has a pretty good look. If she can go as well as her success in the business would imply, she'd make a decent signing.

* Arisa Nakajima would make an interesting challenger for Asuka. I've always thought the WWE could get away with having two joshi in the WWE -- one a more dominant one and another more of a babyface.

* I've always wanted to see the WWE sign Scarlett Bordeaux, but that's not really because of her ring skills.

* Going through the list of SHIMMER stars has brought up Vanessa Kraven. She has an intriguing look. Kind of more of a "beast" for the division, but she's got that glamorous look as well. Kind of along the lines of a Tamina or a Nia -- not out of their signing range. She's from Montreal.

* I don't know why they haven't signed Candice LeRae yet.

* Savannah Summers is hot, but I'm not how good she is in the ring.

* Why not bring back Blue Pants?

Frank Drebin 08-20-2016 06:02 PM

It's supposed to be a minor league proving ground anyway. The momentum should always be focused on Raw and SD.

Mr. Nerfect 08-20-2016 06:02 PM

Oh, where the fuck is Melissa Anderson?

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are already good workers. Aliyah is probably on the way too. Nikki Cross is also supposed to be really good. I imagine that after Ember Moon, Nikki is going to be the focal point of the division, but you'll also have the Aussies there. You can get a year out of all of that, easy:

* Asuka vs. Ember Moon at the next Takeover.

* Asuka vs. Ember Moon II at the Takeover after that.

* Asuka vs. Ember Moon III at WrestleMania Takeover (provided they have got good chemistry).

* Ember Moon vs. Billie Kay or Peyton Royce (depending on who has got the better gimmick going on) at the following Takeover.

* Ember Moon vs. Nikki Cross at Brooklyn 3.

Considering Moon-Asuka is rumored to be the next big long term feud for the Women's title, it really depends on when the WWE pulls the trigger for that match to happen.

Next Takeover special is too soon but the following one either in December/January would be a good starting point. Moon-Asuka II at Mania would give the WWE till the following special to have someone else built up by then or Emma if she can return by then.

Then have Moon-Asuka III at the next year's Brooklyn special which would give the WWE a year to have the next big feud ready by then.

The midcard did take a big hit because of the recent Draft but NXT does have the huge benefit of the spacing between specials and them developing multiple women at a time.

Look at the resumes of the guys in nxt. Quite a few of them don't need to prove anything, but they still do a lot for the brand. They add depth to the roster, and working with them really adds to the development of younger talent.

Again, I just think they should add one or two more vets. A Kong or Mickie. Just enough to add a little more experience, while still allowing time for the newbs.

DaveWadding 08-21-2016 02:10 AM

Ivelisse
Veda Scott
Mary Dobson
Tessa Blanchard
Santana Garrett

And 3 of the 5 already worked for NXT tapings. Done.

Nicky Fives 08-22-2016 09:34 AM

Santana Garrett. Scott Hall & Larry Zbyszko used to hype her in Hall's old YouTube videos that she would be a star in a few years. Good enough recommendation for me.

Wouldn't mind Mickie James coming in and helping to get over some of the newer gals in the same way they've used Rhyno or RVD.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 06:28 AM

Mickie James as Becky Lynch's "not-so-straight-fire" would be an amazing angle. But skirt Mickie only.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 06:30 AM

Oh, imagine Mickie James in an "I had John first" angle. Wow.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 06:31 AM

Singing creepy country love songs to John Cena.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 06:32 AM

That segues into a Triple Threat program with Becky, who has a problem with Nikki, and Mickie transfers her feelings for John Cena onto Becky Lynch. She helps Becky cheat (unbeknownst to Becky) to win the belt and she says she handed Becky the belt, all she wants back is Becky's love and admiration.

Mr. Nerfect 09-01-2016 06:39 AM

As for NXT:

http://www.wowe.com/sites/default/fi...?itok=n3BOwx9N

* Santana Garrett as your new babyface. She's basically Wonder Woman. You've got Billie Kay as a bitch heel in NXT right? There's her first feud.

http://www.gerweck.net/wp-content/up...ard-101014.jpg

* Tessa Blanchard kind of sucked in her NXT showing, but you give her a contract anyway because she is Tully's girl. She's young and has a lot of room for growth. She's the "my daddy this, my daddy that" heel girl. She'd actually be a good heel apprentice for Natalya. Oh, and she's dating Ricochet, and you definitely want him in your company. If you don't want to play up her family history as much, you book her as a fake nerd girl.

"I'm not like my dad." *Authors of Pain come out to stand around the ring during her matches*

Saraya is signed by William Regal because she's sick of seeing young, pretty girls get all the attention. She is here to kick their asses and be a real trial by fire for them.

The Punk Princess; The Goddess of Grit. Kristina is here to try and prove that she's been the best kept secret of women's wrestling for a long time.

Asuka is not the only Japanese women's wrestler William Regal has has his eyes on for some time. Arisa is only 27 years old, and at one point retired not being sure if she could make it in wrestling. Asuka inspired Arisa to contact William Regal and prove she belongs in the WWE.

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/...20140329172103

Treated as a big signing, "The Canadian Ninja" Mattie Campbell has finally signed with NXT! Flanked by her assistant, Skarlet, she is bound to be a force to be reckoned with in NXT.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...x_in_AAW_1.jpg

The assistant to Campbell, who has used her career success to pay her off as a manager, Skarlett is an antagonistic security measure for Campbell at ringside.

Heather Bester is the plucky babyface that has shown up at the Performance Center and relocated from Australia. She is constantly mocked by her fellow Australians -- Billie Kay and the rich girl from the mining family, Peyton Royce -- but she and her tag team partner from New Zealand, make the most of their situation and want to earn the respect of the NXT fans by beating their Australian opponents.

http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/...20131215173359

A spunky girl from Auckland, Evie Crowe was the first wrestler to ever take on Nia Jax. She needs to prove that she belongs in NXT though, and her partnership with Heather Bester will allow her that opportunity.

It's women's wrestling. Who cares. Just show your tits and move on. The Wrestling has improved but nobody really cares.

I was at Full Sail last taping...the woman's division did seem a bit thin. The next storyline they're rolling with is, and I can't for the life of me remember the girl's name, but she's blonde and from Jersey, challenging Asuka for the title...

Seemed way out of place, she is no where near ready and not near the caliber of Bayley. Ember Moon vs. Asuka will be a good program though...Ember was really impressive in person.

Also Asuka is my waifu, so I'll be mega sad to see her go, but happy to see her move up. She looks like a million bucks, and her entrance is money...great worker obviously. She's been ready for long time.

Edit - I got to see Rachael Ellering in person and thought she was alright...felt as though she could do with some kind of gimmick.

She's not great but I wouldn't call her awful. She'd be a big name that people would know and a good one off challenger to Asuka.

Anyone watch that Liv Morgan vs Aliyah match yesterday?

Yeah, they need to sign some more experienced performers ASAP.

Frank Drebin 09-01-2016 10:05 PM

Yeah. That finish was botched pretty bad it seemed. Quick camera cuts and everything. I've got one foot in the "Liv Morgan sucks" boat. We all know Aaliyah (Nooph from Breaking Ground) sucks.

I guess it doesn't count or matter at all that they're working on improving storytelling and character development more now than in probably the past 5-10 years or so (IMHO)?
