WWE releases Alberto Del Rio
From WWE.com
STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE and Jose Rodriguez (Alberto Del Rio) have mutually agreed upon the terms of his release as of today, September 9, 2016. |
Good. Mexicans shouldn't be in this country at all.
|
They didn't even wish him any luck in his future endeavors or anything like that Ha!
|
Hate to see him go but he definitely will do better away from WWE in a character standpoint. Money wise he might not make as much but being one of the few stars WWE has created he should be able to get a good amount of money. Doesn't seem like he is real high on working Japan so I doubt he would sign with NJPW or ROH. Thought he had a bit of a falling out with Lucha Underground but they seem to be having financial problems so I don't know if they'd be able to afford him. Just doesn't feel like a guy that would go to TNA but if Billy Ckrgan got some money together I wouldn't be surprised if he made a play for him.

That's a shame Del Rio was always good no matter who WWE did with him.
|
IT'S OVAH!

Kind of telling how bad things were if the WWE didn't even offer the "future endeavors" line for the release.

Before the recent deal with the WWE, Lucha Underground were offering around the same amount albeit with less guaranteed and merch sales percentages. |
Alberto El Patron is just a cool name. Says he only want to wrestle about 60 matches a year and has been thinking about reretirement possibly in two years. Also said he was in talks about purchasing an MMA promotion.
|
There will be a bidding war in Mexico over him. He will be able to get work whenever he needs to. Personally, given that AAA is crumbling, I imagine that he'll end up in either CMLL or Elite. The CMLL relationship with ROH might see him pop between those brands, but with only 60 dates a year, you have to question whether or not he wants to waste any for a promotion that is kind of small fish like that. I mean, one off indies for big matches or whatever I can see, but cultivating a working relationship between two companies might be somewhat of a stretch.
I hope Billy Corgan has reached out to Alberto El Patron though. With Dixie Carter gone there is a small window of relevancy for TNA to try and seize. |
He's been boring as fuck since his return. I liked him better when he had Ricardo to play off of.
|
Never liked him, dont know why they resigned him in the first place.
|
They wanted a top Mexican star and they don't know anyone else.
