Better Jobber #1

This is an idea I came up with a few weeks ago and mentioned to Destor. Let this be the place where the underappreciated who will never get a fair shake in the better wrestler polls can have their day! At the very least, these should be awesome for nostalgia reasons and ridiculous arguments.

I'm defining "jobber" as someone who has less than a 25% winning percentage with at least 25 matches under their belt. I'm using profightdb to verify these stats. If they're slightly off somehow and there's some technicality that should make them ineligible, I don't care (I'm talking to you, STD).

As for what defines "best", that's up to you. You can vote based on who was the blandest, most generic one. You can even vote based on who you think was the better technical wrestler (lol nerd!)

AND WE'RE OFF! Who will job in the inaugural "Better Jobber" poll and who will fail miserably at their job by being a winner?!? You decide!

Destor 02-09-2017 09:22 PM

To me a good jobber is the guy who makes the prime talent look the best and El Dandy could bump his ass off!

Should post some good jobbin' videos for these threads as reference for the younger fans...

Lol david flair hadnt even been taught how to hit the ropes and he's on national tv. Thank god he was in there with dandy and not the goon or he'd been brutally exposed!

#1-norm-fan 02-09-2017 09:37 PM

Who are you to doubt The Goon?

My Final Heaven 02-09-2017 11:19 PM

It's a toss up, Dandy has a meme to his name & got to bone Jailbait Lita, but every interview I've seen with Bill Irwin made him look like a genuinely nice guy with a sense of humor about himself, & a mind for the "business" side of the sport.

Bill had the boots that looked like ice skates too. Went with him.

Stickman 02-09-2017 11:43 PM

Is David Flair the worst wrestler of all time?

He is the worst multi-time champion of all time.

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2017 12:05 AM

I didn't watch much WCW at that time so I missed David Flair's career. Just saw that match though. Holy shit. I hope he improved a little from that at least.

He was having his match after being in the business like 2 weeks. And i mean 2 weeks from his first bump ever.

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 02:08 AM

Bill Irwin back in the day was really good. At this point of their careers El Dandy was much better.

Stickman 02-10-2017 10:03 AM

I was half expecting David Flair to fall out of the ring by the way he was hitting the ropes.

Ruien 02-10-2017 10:15 AM

Didn't David Flair die?

Big Vic 02-10-2017 10:23 AM

Not quite sure who El Dandy is but who am I to doubt him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 10:25 AM

i can't wait for Iron Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2017 11:12 AM

I was waiting to cast my vote but when My Final Heaven mentioned the internet meme, that swayed me. Being an internet meme has gotta be a big selling point for deciding who the better wrestling jobber is. On the other hand though, I am a sucker for gimmicks.

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 11:28 AM

Lol jobbers are my speciality. Especially 80's jobbers. Pretty happy about this.

Big Vic 02-10-2017 11:29 AM

Can't wait for Len Wagner...... fuck only 7 matches.

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2017 11:45 AM

I may drop the number of matches requirement. I'm realizing I'm gonna leave a lot of legends of our sport out with it.

Make sure that you are consulted by #1wwffan about candidates for #1 jobber.

Destor 02-10-2017 11:52 AM

Is there going to be a jobber hall of shame?

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 11:57 AM

Brian Costello. Look him up.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 11:58 AM

Reno Riggins needs to be involved in this.

The most shameful thing a true jobber could do is win 5 straight contests. So, absolutely.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 11:58 AM

Rick McGraw

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2017 12:00 PM

I have a short list already. And the 80's will not be forgotten.

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 12:02 PM

The week before McGraw died, they did an angle where Piper ddt'd McGraw over and over again. McGraw was stretchered out. People thought Piper actually killed McGraw.

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 12:02 PM

Rusty Brooks!

That's so 80s, fucking love it.

I feel like mentioning jobbers triggers Getner's aspergers.

SD Jones

Bad News Gertner 02-10-2017 12:07 PM

Jones had a mid card push from the late 70's till like 1984. Wasn't a jobber.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 12:30 PM

Could you call Tito Santana's El Matador persona a jobber?

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 12:30 PM

(I know he wasn't because he'd beat actual jobbers)

Destor 02-10-2017 12:44 PM

I think vids will be a must for a lot of the forum

#1-norm-fan 02-10-2017 12:52 PM

Yeah, I'm definitely going to be putting up videos.

I'm going with the man not the gimmick for all of these. At least until I start to run out of guys and have to change the guidelines which won't be for a long time. Even so, he didn't job enough as El Matador to really be considered a jobber.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-10-2017 01:03 PM

Yeah, he definitely would have went over the likes of Gill and Horowitz. He was JUST above jobber.

road doggy dogg 02-10-2017 01:21 PM

no idea who these shits are but fuck yeah hockey #1

Ruien 02-10-2017 01:38 PM

Can't wait for Elsworth to win this

Anybody Thrilla 02-10-2017 02:10 PM

As much as I love the idea of The Goon, I am no one to doubt El Dandy.

Funniest shit to me right now, imagine either of these guy's names at the end of this announcement...

"The winner...and NEW WWE Champion..."

Haha, fuck off, guys.

Evil Vito 02-10-2017 03:54 PM

I've gotta throw my vote behind Lou Ferrigno.

KIRA 02-10-2017 05:02 PM

I'm voting for El Dandy but only so he can become part of the mountain of jobbers That Barry Horowitz will be standing on when this is all over.
