Seems about right. Hadn't done anything since moving to SD. I don't think Impact Wrestling has the money to do a "What is( superstars non copyright name) doing in the Impact Zone" joke.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-01-2017 06:19 PM

he'll make some cash on the Indy's. It'll do him good. Maybe a run in Japan? He's a good worker, just got fucked over by the machine.

Emperor Smeat 03-01-2017 06:24 PM

Not surprised considering the WWE simply refused to use him on Smackdown even though that brand could use more wrestlers for depth reasons. Even worse when they didn't even bother to consider him as battle royale material.

Maluco 03-01-2017 06:39 PM

I feel like he has wasted so much time there, so many years.

Could have done what Cody is doing now much earlier and got himself out of the rut he was in.

I actually really like "we the people" Swagger and his run. The only person he can blame is himself as to why that didn't work out.

Damn, it sucks to see him go but at the same time, I'm glad he's left. He so much better than what the WWE thought he was worth.

To be honest, I completely forgot that he was on the SmackDown roster until just now.

I see him doing well overseas, especially in the UK.

I wish him well.

#1-norm-fan 03-01-2017 08:01 PM

Damn. He's gonna be a huge signing for someone. The man is a former world champion! How many people can say that!?!

#1-norm-fan 03-01-2017 08:02 PM

Oh. After some research, it appears the answer is "a fuckton". Nevermind.

Sepholio 03-01-2017 08:03 PM

Weed the people will never forget you Swaggie!

Rammsteinmad 03-01-2017 08:16 PM

Remember how massively over "We the People" was when he was going after Rusev.

He was fucked the moment Cesaro split from the Real Americans, though.

Droford 03-01-2017 08:49 PM

Zeb Coulter is in TNA..can't wait for the <strike>Real..True..All American..</strike>Double American

To be fair, quite a few people were over when going after Rusev. Could just be that Rusev is awesome.

RP 03-01-2017 08:56 PM

WHY WOULD THEY LET JACK SWAGGER leave OMG WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY!

Lock Jaw 03-01-2017 08:59 PM

Think Swagger could have been "made a star" if he went over Rusev in that feud.

But then a few months later he would have been floundering, and Rusev would have also got to floundering a lot sooner than he did.

Vastardikai 03-01-2017 09:37 PM

I feel like I should post what this means:

WWE Creative didn't know how to book an All American Babyface... in America.

Eh, he was fucked when be had a Wrestlemania title match and decided he couldn't lay off the synthetic weed.

To me, that was mostly WWE covering their asses by removing the racist overtones of "We The People." Playing off that wrestling fans were racist assholes wasn't doing WWE any favors. Nothing really about Swagger at all just trying to remove something the media could mock.

GD 03-02-2017 03:06 AM

The entrance music was fucking awesome (especially live).

I've always been a "mark" for Swagger. And while he didn't have the smoothest of runs, he'll end his WWE career as a former United States, ECW, and World Heavyweight Champion. That's one helluva resume.

GD 03-02-2017 03:11 AM

And this actually happened

Nicky Fives 03-02-2017 03:52 AM

Eva Marie & David Otunga still have a job, but Jack Swagger does not. Something is wrong with the world.

ClockShot 03-02-2017 08:17 AM

He was on Smackdown for like 2 episodes. And then he just disappeared.

This is for the best. He'll land on his feet somewhere.

RP 03-02-2017 09:12 AM

Was he getting paid?

wwe2222 03-02-2017 09:21 AM

I was a big fan of Swagger. Shame they didnt know what to do with him.

Evil Vito 03-02-2017 11:22 AM

As much as I liked him, it was almost a hindrance putting Swagger on television because the announcers would invariably bring up that he was a former World champion. Rather than that statement making Swagger look good, it actually just made the belt look bad because Swagger has been doing pretty much nothing for years.

Simple Fan 03-02-2017 11:25 AM

Feel like Curtis Axel will be the next. He'll either leave or be released at the next round of releases.

erickman 03-02-2017 01:46 PM

he would do good in japan wish he left sooner

RP 03-02-2017 01:52 PM

serious question though. Was he getting paid ? Is Eva Marie getting paid? Do they get paid by the appearance?

Heisenberg 03-02-2017 03:00 PM

"What's Jack TeaBagger doing in the IMPACT Zone!?!"

yes. WWE has dumped alot of the hold "Pay per dates" or "X amount of guaranteed dates" back when WCW crushed contracts.

These guys Get X Salary plus merch. If injured they get a downside guarantee. but hes still been travelling and appearing on how shows and such. If they dont use him on TV he gets paid the same

If you are on the road you get paid. If you are at home for injury or just working out at the performance studio or whatever you get your downside.

This is why guys getting shit treatment will stick around. They are getting paid good money depending on when they negotiated their contract to do nothing.

The only reason to leave, is to be happy and try to save some level of popularity for a shift to indies. At some point every superstar is going to get let go, and Swagger probably wants to capitalize off his name the best he can. If he jobs out another 2 years and gets released his value will be shit.

I feel like he will always be around because WWE uses him to train part-timers and returnees. He may not be on TV but they are probably paying him a little more since he's the guy to get people back in ring shape.

Anybody Thrilla 03-02-2017 03:46 PM

I really liked Jack Swagger. Sucks to see him go.

Evil Vito 03-02-2017 03:51 PM

With Swagger's departure, there are only two "WWECW Originals" left who made their main roster debut with the ECW brand and have been with the company ever since: Sheamus and Zack Ryder.

If you include people who left the company and came back you also have Curt Hawkins and Tye Dillinger. Pretty sure the Major Brothers and Gavin Spears are canon.

Loved WWECW.

It sounds like he's the new Steven Richards.

Jobber most of the time, but trainer of part-timers when needed.

I'm sure Richards trained Shane McMahon for his match against Shawn Michaels on Saturday Night's Main Event back in 2005.
