If they come in without the gimmick then there is absolutely no point in coming in. Matt hardy was about one step up in charisma from Lance Storm. The value and interest is in the gimmick.

Tbf with WWE's track record I can see why they'd say the gimmick has no value. It didn't happen in WWE so therefore it didn't happen at all.

They'd want to sell Hardy merch and armbands and stuff and use them to put guys over. Their return run might end up being similar to the Dudleyz.

I don't watch the Indy stuff, so have never seen all this broken character with the Hardy's. WWE has been tweeting about it, so maybe they have plans to use it.

My feeling is it's something that should evolve over time on WWE TV. How many people watch those other promotions? 300k? WWE gets hundreds of millions of views on social media. So while this broken gimmick might get over to the audience thats coming to shows this weekend, most fans would be confused. Better would be to bring back the loveable Hardy's that the WWE Universe remembers, and then evolve the character. Plus with WWE promotion and creative behind it, it will come off major league.

Yeah, WWE is known for taking things from other companies and making them better. See: NWO, Goldberg, Sting, Sin Cara, ECW, the invasion in general, etc.

I think you make a good point about letting it evolve on WWE TV but then they would just be rehashing what they did in TNA and I don't see that happening. I don't think it would be as good in WWE because of the limits WWE would out on him. The thing that made Broken Matt Hardy great was that it was all Matt's vision. Making it feel "major league" would ruin the gimmick in my opinion plus Matt Hardy has more creativity in his pinky than WWE creative has as a whole.

Their rumored WWE deal probably going to be the same since Observer and/or PWI teased at their run being the part-time type whenever it would happen.

Best case would be something similar to the Dudleys or Jinder in being around consistent enough to do regular feuds without breaks padding it out.

Jeff and Matt had a feud that ended in a draw when Jeff Swantoned him through a ladder off a ladder. It Broke Matt Hardy and "awakened more of his brain" so he ended up talking in a ridiciulous British accent and saying he will DELETE BROTHER NERO (Jeff Hardy).

They filmed a match in their backyard involving fireworks fired and each other and a boat named Scarsdale and a drone called Vanguard 1

They knew how stupid it was and leaned into the ridiculousness hard. Jeff became an obsolete mule and sided with matt eventually, so Matt tried to cure him of his "spot-monkey ways" and the river on their porperty is now the River of Reincartnation, so when someone gets thrown into it, they come out as an old gimmick, like Shane Helms getting thrown in and coming out as Shane Sugar Helms

I assumed there's zero chance they wrestle for ROH tonight and show up tomorrow. At best they'll show up Monday/Tuesday but I think its going to be a while before they show up
