TPWW Greatest Manager of All Time Tournament: Second Round
Cornette vs Albano is a pretty hot matchup for an early round. Both are doing slightly worse in this tournament than expected.
*bump*
Sticky, please. |
Hated voting against Wizard :(. Lots of tough matches this round, especially Albano vs Cornette and Blassie vs Dillon
Stuck
Tossed a coin on Corny and Cap'n Lou
Also with managers I think legacy is the biggest criteria
Some seriously good matchups in this one.

Heyman for greatest manager and color commentator of all-time.

Really thought heyman was plugging himself for a bit; took my brain far too long to process that
Should use a more recent picture of Sonny... tipping votes will go the other way very quickly

Corny and Albano was hard. I actually struggled with Zeb Colter and Miss Elizabeth too. As a performer, I must prefer Colter, but Miss Elizabeth was just so perfect as part of Randy Savage's entire package. I had to go with her. Also went with Sunny over Mr. Fuji, because Sunny was so fucking good at being Sunny.
Either Cornette or Albano will be eliminated earlier than they should be. Letting TPWW decide the seeding though and they have declared it a round of 16 matchup.
Winner withnthe smallest margin faces winner with the largest?
Also curious to see if Heyman and Heenan both make it to the finals without a single vote being made against either. They're currently 74-0 and 72-0 respectively.

Given the nature of the seeding its unlikely until the semis. Cornette could get votes against either
Pringle could too i think
Hart probably should but not on this board
I don't know. Hart shutting out Ellering like this is pretty surprising. I expected Ellering to have a few "What have you done for me lately?" votes from some newer fans.
Jimmy Hart is an easy Top 5, probably Top 3

I underrate Jimmy Hart, I can admit it. I voted for him here though. Paul Ellering is fine, and I'm happy he's still working, but Jimmy Hart was way more effective and significant.
Jimmy Hart in Memphis was incredible.
When i imagine what a manager should be in my head its jimmy hart thats the prototype
I'm looking forward to seeing if Heenan and Heyman can both enter the finals with 0 votes against them.
I'm looking forward to seeing if Heenan can go through the entire tournament without a vote against him. I think it's fairly indisputable that he's the greatest manager of all-time. I love both Heyman and Cornette, but I could vote either one against each other depending on the weather, but neither is getting the nod against Heenan; and they would be the first to vote for Heenan over themselves too.
If it goes to a Heenan vs Heyman finals, I definitely think Heyman would get some votes. I thought Cornette might get a couple votes against Heenan, too but now I don't know.
Any Corny fan have to vote for Heenan. Corny said Heenan was the best ever.
I'm fairly certain Heyman has said that about Heenan too. I'm fairly certain it's largely agreed upon that Heenan is the best. Anyway, this is getting ahead of ourselves and will take the fun out of the final.
I dont have to agree with these people...i mean i do..but the notion that because they think i must is weird.
No, I don't think you must agree with them at all. But as you said, you do.
In my head theres a strong argument for hart but i havent debated it with myself yet
If the match presents itself though itll be interesting
Okay, I can see that.

In all seriousness though, I think Jim Ross and Paul Heyman were the best duo commenting team in the history of wrestling, and its not even close. Although the alliance story angle was a let down for the most part, the chemistry between JR and Heyman was top notch. Heyman has been absolute gold with Lesnar as well. |
