***SPOILER*** Major Title changes hands

Josh Matthews, Impact Wrestling announcer, is now the 'Impact Grand Champion' their 2nd biggest title behind the Impact Global Champion (Austin Aries formerly of 205 Live).

Jordan 01-13-2018 09:25 PM

LOL seriously, what?

slik 01-13-2018 09:28 PM

You can take the TNA out of the name but you can't take the TNA out of the booking.

Emperor Smeat 01-13-2018 09:58 PM

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-13-2018 10:10 PM

What about Austin Aries?

GD 01-13-2018 10:12 PM

Dear Lord :rofl:copter

Mr. Nerfect 01-13-2018 10:13 PM

I take it Matt Sydal must be leaving.

Oh, so they just wanted him to lose to Josh Mathews. Cool.

erickman 01-14-2018 06:51 AM

that's a belt billy should have taking with him to nwa. I hope josh retires it.

Jordan 01-14-2018 10:31 AM

I read that the belt is now retired.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-14-2018 03:39 PM

Grand Championship: I must go, my people need me!

Yay. The Grand Championship is dead.

Mr. Nerfect 01-14-2018 05:32 PM

Thank goodness that belt is dead. I don't know why they couldn't just have Sydal unify it with the X-Division Title though.

mike adamle 01-14-2018 06:37 PM

Congrats to Josh Matthews on his first major wrestling championship!!

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-14-2018 06:46 PM

Major? Liberal use of that word.

Oh, that's much better.

ozzman6669 01-15-2018 09:25 PM

Well from the results of today's taping Sydal still was the champion but lost it to Aries!!

Mr. Nerfect 01-15-2018 09:27 PM

The quick "Oh, shit, that was dumb," turnaround.

Black Widow 01-16-2018 01:10 AM

Don't you have to be apart of a major promotion(wwe) for a title to be considered that?

Juan 01-16-2018 03:49 AM

Are the Global and Grand championship the same thing?

Mr. Nerfect 01-16-2018 03:51 AM

Nah, the Global Title is their renamed World Title and the Grand Title is another secondary title that was added by Billy Corgan.

For that to be true, they would have to keep hotshotting indy nobodies to be their world champ and tout them as the next big thing, only to book them into the ground and switch the title to the next next big thing indy nobody in six months. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Mr. Nerfect 01-16-2018 05:58 AM

I think they've sort of done that, haven't they?

Simple Fan 01-17-2018 05:23 PM

No they take ex WWE guys and do that.

Mr. Nerfect 01-18-2018 02:13 AM

Ah, fair point. I was thinking of Sabin and Young, but I guess the ex-WWE guys do outnumber the indy guys.
