Mark Henry announced for the Hall of Fame

His fake retirement speech is the best retirement speech ever

That's what he do.

slik 03-19-2018 02:11 PM

Mark Henry going to split some wigs during his speech

Innovator 03-19-2018 03:07 PM

Please have Cena induct him

Destor 03-19-2018 03:08 PM

most undeserved HoFer and career ever

Black Widow 03-19-2018 03:14 PM

Goldberg is the only speech i'll have to watch this year.

Loose Cannon 03-19-2018 03:18 PM

after the Mae Young angle, i think he had a job for life.

I did love his retirement speech angle. one of the rare moments in the last 20 years i was completely swerved

Ruien 03-19-2018 04:09 PM

really don't care who gets put in as long as they give a good speech. It's not like it matters anyways. Henry should have some good stories to share.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-19-2018 04:19 PM

Everybody is gonna get their wig split in the Hall of Pain and the Hall of Fame.

Well deserved. Godfather inducts? D'lo Brown?

Theo Dious 03-19-2018 04:25 PM

IF HE DOESNT WEAR THE PINK SUIT I WILL RUIN THE WORLD WITH MY ANGER

Theo Dious 03-19-2018 04:26 PM

Seriously should be Cena thst inducts him, then he comes out and slams him, then says "naw, I'm really retired, I just thought y'all would enjoy dat."

Curtis 03-19-2018 04:29 PM

This gives me hope that now Mideon will get inducted at some point in the future.

Anybody Thrilla 03-19-2018 04:45 PM

The Hall of Pain was cool. Everything else was between 'garbage' and 'barely passable'. Congratulations, though. Seems like a super nice guy.

Emperor Smeat 03-19-2018 04:48 PM

Does that mean everyone inducted into the Hall of Pain are now WWE Hall of Fame members by association?

Hey, if Mick Foley could get that win (with the help of special ref CM Punk) over Chris Jericho at his Hall of Fame induction, I could totally see this being a thing that happens. Or even at least teasing it again, just to set him back down and go "Ah! Gotcha!"

Emperor Smeat 03-20-2018 01:42 AM

Rumor going around the net hints the reason why Henry got the nod was due to Bam Bam Bigelow's family unable to reach a financial deal with the WWE in terms of royalties and image rights for this year's class.

Bigelow was the only one from the original list of rumored names to not be inducted while Henry, Jarrett, and Hillbilly Jim were late additions for this year's class.

Anybody Thrilla 03-20-2018 01:57 AM

I used to work with Bam Bam's niece. Maybe I can talk to her about it.

Only if he actually stiffs Kid Rock. And the podium isn't gimmick'd.

They also have not named a black guy.

Evil Vito 03-20-2018 09:52 AM

D-Von Dudley
Jarrius Robertson

Jordan 03-20-2018 11:12 AM

Mark Henry totally deserves to be in the HOF. He surpassed one of the worst angles ever, was apart of a legendary stable, and totally turned around his career and had an amazing Heavyweight Championship run. I look forward to his speech more than anyone. I'd say Ron Simmons will induct him but he's not the most eloquent speaker so I really don't know who would be best, maybe Michael Hayes.

Koko was massively over an drew money...were you born in the 90s or what?

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-20-2018 11:16 AM

Yeah, the "Koko is undeserving" thing is a myth. He got the shit end in the fed, but there's a reason they signed him.

KIRA 03-20-2018 01:01 PM

Destor the Hall of Pain gimmick alone is worth everything

It was a good...12 months? tacked on to a lazy career. Feels wrong to reward that.

Ol Dirty Dastard 03-20-2018 01:18 PM

It could have been more, but injuries impeded it. Still, you're right. 15 years of shite, 1 year of the goods.

Evil Vito 03-20-2018 01:24 PM

As I've been saying, the HOF is little more than a golden watch to thank a long-time employee for their years of service.

But with henry he was long term because they siged himto a stupid 10yr deal fresh out of the olympics.

He finally started getting his together a decade later and even then didnt get good for 14 years into his run.

He's literally one of the most overpaid wrestlers of all time.

Evil Vito 03-20-2018 01:46 PM

I don't disagree. But he still put his time in and was well-liked. That's basically all you need to do to round out a HOF class from WWE's standpoint.

Evil Vito 03-20-2018 01:47 PM

There are a shitload of people currently on TV every week who don't feel like HOFers in the traditional sense but I can pretty much guarantee most of them will be going in eventually.

Nope. 1980. Koko did his thing, and Frankie was pretty over, but still felt like he was kinda... there. Always felt like a poor man's JYD.

Jordan 03-21-2018 10:37 AM

For me the Hall of Pain was a brilliant angle and his run on Smackdown on top was really great. Probably the best surprise title run ever for my money. For the rest of it, sure he went through tons of garbage stories but he also endured and was a positive person in the locker room. He's a HOFer in WWE standards for sure.

I don't even think Koko had Frankie until he was in the WWF?

Such a pointless statement.

I will have to agree this. That fake retirement speech/segment was amazing.
