Do you like the purple ring ropes? (205 Live)
?
|
I just like them period because I like purple. Not neccessarily as a branding tool to cordon off the cruiserweights, as it were.
|
Thank you. I am glad we had this conversation. Now I must go. My planet needs me.
|
Not really. The ropes should be orange bc that's what color Oompa Loompas are.
|
They should use purple cables and an 18x18 ft ring so it feels like a real cruiserweight rasslin show.
|
Yes but only on 205live. Hope it stays that way.
|
Purple is my favorite color.
On that note, They need Pink Ropes, Real Men wrestle in Pink. Ain't I right Figgy? |
I'm not someone who hates the color pink or thinks it's "girly" or anything, but I find it weird that they did Hell in a Cell for all those years in October, with the Susan G. Komen stuff. So you have these alleged blood-feuds instead a cage where the ring ropes are designed to be good PR for disreputable cancer charities.
I know the cell hasn't meant anything in ages, but I just found that idiosyncratic detail bizarre. It'd be like The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels being refereed by Pudsey Bear. |
Yeah I like it.
|
Favorite ropes were red white and blue.
|
I didn't watch at the time, so they always feel a bit cheesy and antiquated to me. I liked the orange used at Mania XXIV and I started during an era where black ropes were used for PPV, which I liked.
I loved the white ropes when they first showed up, but they've been used so much since and I now associate them with a bland product, haha. |
Loved the black, gold, black for WrestleMania IX and X. WrestleMania XXVI and onwards have had white ropes, which I think makes it the longest used rope scheme in Mania history, with 9 straight white-roped Manias. Black got 7; red, white and blue got 8. There have been 10 red, white and blue all up, tying it with all white which also has 10.

I liked it back in the day when Raw was red, SmackDown was blue, PPV's were black and Saturday Night's Main Event was white.
I also liked the black ropes when they were used for SmackDown in 2002. I also really liked the white ropes when they were used for SNME as it was different and made SNME feel special and gave the show a clean look, but like Noid said, I too associate them with blandness now, mostly because of Raw between 2010-2016 when the white ropes were in use and Raw was pretty bad during that time, with things such as Guest GM's/Hosts and The Anonymous Raw General Manager and Raw being the "Triple H & Stephanie Show". I think now that all PPV's are dual-branded, the ropes should go back to being black but I highly doubt that will happen for many reasons. I'm sure they'll return to being white. |
Also, I was never really a fan of the red, white & blue ropes.
I know they're traditional colours but to me, no matter what company it was, if the ropes were red, white & blue, I always felt that it gave everything a bit of a cheap and cheesy feel. |
These days however, not so much.
Probably because everything has slicker production values now. |
They're different.

Cool King’s views pretty much mirror mine 100%. I wish they would take more chances for PPVs. Look at the logos for the shows. Have the ropes reflect that aesthetic.
