I like The Shield. I do. I'm not feeling it though. The thing I liked about their dynamic was that they were three new guys who were kicking the door in and not taking shit from anybody -- not The Rock, not The Undertaker.

That was almost six years ago. Now they all have histories and a completely different dynamic. Dean Ambrose is not the charismatic and eccentric leader -- he's "The Lunatic Fringe." Seth Rollins isn't the sharpshooting aerial specialist of the group -- he's "The Architect" that just likes to have fun. Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion and "The Big Dog."

I have no faith for them to treat the Shield dynamic with any sort of integrity. This is a ploy to get Roman Reigns cheered. It won't work. Crowds will boo whenever Reigns does something and cheer when Ambrose and Rollins do theirs. It will drive a bigger wedge over time. And the more Ambrose and Rollins really try to rub off that Reigns stank, the more it's just going to spread to them. Honestly, I'm worried that they are going to sully the name of The Shield by making this an "Original Shield! Starring THE BIG DOG BELIEVE THAT Roman Reigns, MONDAY NIGHT ROLLINS THE KINGSLAYER THE ARCITECT Seth Rollins and THE LUNATIC FRINGE Dean Ambrose! The ORIGINAL SHIELD! Next!"
