Dunno

Fignuts 11-22-2018 06:45 PM

I do. It’s fucking cool.

Lock Jaw 11-22-2018 06:56 PM

I'll probably rush out to see it, but it might be better as a cartoon.

RP 11-22-2018 07:13 PM

nope

Simple Fan 11-22-2018 07:27 PM

Looks pretty cool. Think it'll be better than The Jungle Book though.

Sixx 11-22-2018 07:50 PM

Shit like this never works.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-22-2018 08:59 PM

Good that this is mostly African cast. Whitewashing in the first one was an odd choice.

Lock Jaw 11-22-2018 09:24 PM

They should have cast real animals. :nono:

Humanwashing at its best

Jungle Book worked. Hell Disney has a good record with the live action remakes.

What were they washing?

Lock Jaw 11-22-2018 11:33 PM

The only one of their live action remakes I've watched was The Jungle Book, and I did like it.

That it was set in Africa and Simba was voiced by the two whitest actors alive.

Agreed. Beauty & The Beast was a massive hit for Disney too.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-23-2018 01:06 AM

Alice Through the Looking Glass lost 100 million dollars from budget/box office.

Voicing animals. Having a mostly black cast is a nice cultural gesture but these are animals. The Jungle Book cast was not primarily Indian. Don't need to be.

Not a live action remake of one of their 90s streak movies. Although, the first Alice movie before that was well recieved.

Alright then, I stand corrected. Never seen Jungle Book.

Just read it was praised by critics and made lots of $, so yeah.

Frank Drebin 11-23-2018 08:48 AM

Is this going to have all the songs?

Also, I like how this is being called a live action remake but it's all CGI rather than classic animation.

Lock Jaw 11-23-2018 08:58 AM

Yeah, at least Jungle Book has a human in it so it was live action in that way. This is just "different animation". Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This is painfully stupid. Ignoring Africa does have a sizable white population (about the same as the US black population hovering around 10%-13% [which btw means of you think its white washing to cast whites in an african based film then by the same logic you must also think its black washing to cast blacks in an american film otherwise your thoughts have no consistency) and ignoring that they cast Americans and not Africans we are talking about cartoon lions.

You cant "white wash" are cartoon lion. It doesnt have an ethnicity other than lion. If anything given that the original source material was white in making it "African" youve culture washed the material since this is a white story made by white people.

This was a disney origional story with pre-existing no cultural folkore backgrounds. An origional work can not be "white washed."

The notion that white people cant make stories set in certain countries is outlandish and its twice as stupid when its talking animals that we're talking about.

Destor 11-23-2018 10:59 AM

With that said as long as this is a musical i cant wait

Sixx 11-23-2018 11:17 AM

LIONS ARE BLACK

MONKEYS ARE MIXED

HYENAS ARE LATINO

Damian Rey 2.0 11-23-2018 11:43 AM

I didn't like the first Alice movie, and didn't finish Beauty and the Beast or Cinderella.

I did however love the Jungle Book, so here's hoping this is good because the Lion King is my favorite Disney movie.

Blue Demon 11-23-2018 12:23 PM

Nice that they brought back James Earl Jones as Mufasa
