RAW - New Year's Eve - OFFICIAL THREAD
 
Sounds pretty boring to me

SPOILER: show


1 - Drew McIntyre defeated Dolph Ziggler in a steel cage match. Drew vowed to win the Royal Rumble after the match.


* HHH & Shane arrive in a limo


* Seth Rollins cuts a promo about how he is mad Dean won the IC belt and he wants a rematch. HHH & Shane come out and say no more rematch clauses in WWE. HHH says he wants to see the old Seth Rollins again. HHH announces Seth vs Bobby Lashley and Shane announces a Battle Royal w/ the winner facing Dean for the IC Title.


2 - Apollo Crews wins the IC battle royal. Other people in the battle royal were Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder, The Ascension, Curt Hawkins, The B-Team, No Way Jose, Finn Balor, Baron Corbin, Titus O'Neil and Mojo Rawley. The final two were Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin.


* Natalya cuts a promo backstage saying she is entering the Royal Rumble. Nia Jax and Tamina attack her.


* Baron Corbin comes out and cuts a promo about how being in the battle royal earlier wasn't fair.


* Elias comes out and sings a song. Baron Corbin and Elias end up fighting before Corbin retreats.


3 - Bayley, Sasha & Ember defeated The Riott Squad.


4 - Bobby Lashley defeats Seth Rollins by DQ. Rollins snapped during the match at being unable to defeat Lashley and attacked him and Lio Rush with a chair. Rollins then gave Lio Rush a curb stomp. This might have been a double turn.


5 - Jinder Mahal/Singh Bros defeated Rhyno/Heath Slater


6 - Dean Ambrose defeated Apollo Crews.


* A promo says next week will debut Alexa Bliss's new talk show "A Moment Of Bliss" w/ her first guess Ronda Rousey


* A promo airs saying Brock and Cena will both be on the Jan 7th RAW


7 - Ronda Rousey & Natalya defeated Tamina and Nia Jax in what was said to be a really long match.

Someone on reddit noted that the Riott Squad first attacked Bayley/Sasha after the superstar shakeup. The match on RAW NYE will mark the 17th match on RAW in 2018 between some variation of Sasha/Bayley and the Riott Squad.

Sounds like the same old shit. Lol at the random Apollo Crews push. I doubt they're doing a Rollins/Lashley double-turn. Sounds more like they are trying to give Rollins an "edge" like AJ Styles has. It won't work, because it will come off cheesy as hell.

I've been calling for the end of automatic rematch clauses for a while because it promotes lazy booking. But in most cases I expect that whoever just lost the belt will probably simply win a number one contender's match anyway.

Automatic rematch clauses are lazy, but they also mean that a babyface that has to drop a belt looks foolish at least twice. It's fine if you're going to smash a babyface over a heel every now and then (Batista over Triple H in 2005, for example), but losing to Cena three times hurt Rusev far more than simply losing to him once.

It's crazy. I've been emailing and texting the WWE and basically I've been saying " Hey guys! I dont think i've had enough of Sasha/Bayley/Ember Moon vs Riott Squad this year. Can we end this year out with one more?" ....

And you know what? Because i'm the fan and this is what I want and WWE is giving the fans what they want! They said " Hey RP! We're gonna give you that match ".

I really liked when Rollins was the top heel and Dean was the top face a couple years ago when everyone was out w/ injury. Seth is good.

Rollins is the best heel in the company. That fake laugh. As minor of a thing it made him unique.
