Shinsuke Nakamura...
So let me get this straight, the dude that won last year's Royal Rumble had his match bumped to the freaking Pre Show???
I hope he told them to stick their new contract offer up there ass and he is out the door. |
I wonder if Shinsuke realizes the amount of leverage he has. If AEW got Nakamura, then WWE would be in legit trouble. I'm guess Nakamura is locked into a really long contract.

Dillinger or Nakamura to sign with AEW first?

I seldom watch NXT, never Japanese wrestling so my opinion is with WWE eyes. Nakamura has been awful. He can’t talk, shakes and makes weird faces, and is pretty dull in the ring. So I’m ok with him on the pre show or AEw

Besides money, only other reason he signed with the WWE was due to him wanting to wind down from the wear-and-tear on his body in terms of in-ring work. |
I totally forgot he won the Rumble last year!
Shows how bad WWE's booking is. Winning the Rumble use to make you a bonafide star. Now it's just another match. |
But than again, I was a teen back in those days and everyone seemed like a star, so maybe I'm just seeing it through older eyes.

I do think that’s part of the problem; after a point you can see the strings and whatever they try doesn’t register the way they want it to.
It’s so obvious that with Roman out, Rollins goes up a peg, Balor fills the Rollins role, Crews fills the role left vacant by Balor (super smiley baby face with no other discernible character traits). I’m a Balor fan, but even I’m not pumped for this “shove”. They’ve a lot of work to do to convince the audience that the guys they’re getting behind is a guy *we* should get behind due to how often they lose interest in their own projects. |
Nakamura has been well looked after by WWE. They edged him into American life and eased him into the schedule. They gave him a Royal Rumble in his last contracted year with the company. He was never going to win the WWE Title when he could end up moving his family back to their “regular lives” in Japan. The biggest factor that has cropped up is AEW. They can make a very serious play for Nakamura, who could use his old style in special hype matches with the schedule they run.
Post-WrestleMania is going to be the time to judge Nakamura’s career trajectory. If he’s in AEW, more power to him and I hope he delivers what he wants to. If he’s still in WWE, I can see him getting a huge push. |
I believe Shinsuke is having the time of his life surfing.
