Predict the Ratings thread - SD debut, AEW debut, RAW premiere, NXT
What are your predictions for this big week in rasslin ratings?
Mine are: RAW - 2.21 AEW - 1.10 NXT - 700k SD - 3.2 |
RAW - 2.5
SD - 2.9 NXT - 900k AEW - 750k SD should get a very nice boost but feel its going to be slightly under 3 million. Maybe if the show has some great momentum going in, it would easily be in the 3.5 million range based on FOX's strong ad push and the legends announced but its been somewhat limping and the legends are starting to generate diminishing returns. |
Raw - 2.4
NXT - 750k Smackdown - 2.7 AEW - 150k + an extra 5 million once Meltzer does the math |
Raw: 2.4
AEW: 3.2 NXT: 1.4 SmackDown: 4.3 I think the floating 2 million or so fans are going to tune in for SmackDown and AEW. They’ll be that initial interest factor. No one seems to be going as high as me, but I just think WWE being quiet isn’t a good indicator. I do think they will tune out if both shows. It’s tempting to boost NXT up a bit, but I don’t want to go too high. But I think it will get DVR’d and it is a big show. |
My AEW is one I made a while ago. I'm thinking it's way too high now, even with promotion and it not being WWE affiliated (which I think is a draw to some people). I'm going to go with 2.6.

Road to Dynamite got a .63 rating unopposed last night. That can't be a good omen for tonights viewership.
|
Managed to be a lot higher than their previous special though. 631k for last night compared to the 390k they got with the first one.
|
My cynical number for AEW is 1.8.
|
Pretty sure 1.8 would be viewed as a major success.
|
Yeah, it would be. Dave is saying 500k will be a success.
|
Well shit, ratings are coming in at .7 for AEW and .5 for NXT.
Clearly splitting the audience, kind of lame for both to be honest. |
Impact on basic cable averaged a 1.1.. there seems to be a really specific number of wrestling die hards
|
Asumming of course that if one of these shows hadnt aired the other would have gotten the viewers...which is likely a safe assumption

If people went back and forth they get captured for who?

Both shows would get the same viewer.
Quarter-hours would show how much and often that happened last night but Neilsen doesn't release those numbers to the public. WWE used to release those numbers but stopped doing it after a while since it was revealing how weak their top stars were performing. Think Sheamus still owns the WWE record for worst known quarter-hour drop during the time he was getting pushed as a top star. |
A little stat here.
The last time(and yes, I know about the long period that WWE didn't have truly active competition in the ratings on TV) WWE was beaten in the ratings in a head-to-head matchup was on Oct. 26, 1998 by WCW Monday Nitro(Nitro-5.1 rating V. Raw-4.5 rating). That is a period of 20 years, 11 months, and 1 week before it finally happened again. That's far too long without respectable competition in the world of pro wrestling. Here's hoping that never happens again. o.o |
