...That actually sounds kinda cool tbh. Gotta fight their way all the way up the tower. I can dig it.

Anybody Thrilla 04-17-2020 09:06 PM

Yeah, I mean, at least they're trying something to get the action out of empty arenas. I'll check it out.

Evil Vito 04-17-2020 09:09 PM

So that’ll be another cinematic match I reckon

That's what I was thinking, and I actually don't like the sound of that.

Do you think they'll be riding elevators and such?

rockman725 04-17-2020 09:15 PM

I'm very much intrigued to see how this plays out, but I DO NOT want to see another post-production lovefest like Wrestlemania. There is absolutely no reason to do that. It doesn't have to be live, it can be taped, but keep the movie effects for the movies.

The idea sounds pretty interesting but WWE potentially doing two cinematic matches on one night seems like overkill, especially if both end up being very lengthy.

Boneyard and Firefly Fun House matches worked because the idea was brand new and both were of reasonable length which wasn't the case for NXT's cinematic Gargano-Ciampa match a few days later.

Anybody Thrilla 04-17-2020 09:33 PM

That game looks like it fucking sucks ass.

I didn't mind the Gargano/Ciampa match so much. It at least felt like an actual match.

Emperor Smeat 04-17-2020 09:38 PM

I went back and forth between liking it and hating it because it just kept going on and on and felt like NXT was taking the wrong lessons from Mania's cinematic matches.

That and I think I'm just generally tired of NXT and Gargano style Takeover main event matches. Even Gargano's Takeover match against Balor while very good also had it moments where it was just dragging along because of it being longer than it should have been.

Anybody Thrilla 04-17-2020 09:39 PM

I'm still mad about the Boneyard Match.

Bad News Gertner 04-17-2020 09:54 PM

They should have a 24/7 title match where it's locked in Vince's office on the top floor and all of the wrestlers start at the bottom floor.

Evil Vito 04-17-2020 09:55 PM

Let R-Truth throw people off the roof of the building because he thinks it’s a battle royal

Bad News Gertner 04-17-2020 09:55 PM

Vince should hire us

Out of all three cinematic matches, that was the one I liked the most and was my favorite match from Mania.

Going in, I had very low expectations and hated the build done for it. Ended up enjoying it a lot and feeling that was Taker's best Mania match since maybe Taker-HBK II.

Anybody Thrilla 04-17-2020 10:19 PM

You're out of your fucking mind. Glad you enjoyed it, though.

slik 04-17-2020 10:27 PM

Not sure how I feel about MITB yet

Big fan of ladder matches and it sounds like the majority of this one will be more fighting in hallways and offices. I can't fault them for being creative though.

xrodmuc316 04-17-2020 10:51 PM

I don't think/expect the matches to be cinematic. I do expect it to be more like the ladder match at Mania with quick cuts/edits to protect against the high risk spots. I am fine if they film it to look like Jeff Hardy does a Swanton from a 30 foot ladder onto concrete without Jeff actually having to take that bump.

I 1000000000% expect someone being 'thrown off' the roof btw...there's just no way they'll be able to resist that.

Cue camera shot of Jeff Hardy "knocked out" but perfectly fine after a 6 story fall to the ground.

For some reason, this popped into my head.

After looking at the promo closer up, I noticed MVP on the poster. If that's worth anything to anyone.

Naomi is also on the poster and she already lost her qualifying match.

Fightful recently revealed some new details regarding the MitB matches at WWE's HQ.

Fightful was told that the matches were filmed in a more cinematic manner, but we don't know if it will be more akin to the Boneyard Match, The Firefly Funhouse match, or the Tommaso Ciampa vs. Johnny Gargano match. Talent were also trying to stay warm during filming as they'd have to go from standing around to bumping on short notice.

For some reference on the taping length, the Boneyard match took around 8 hours to film.

ClockShot 04-19-2020 07:49 AM

Well, if I knew about this, I would have taken a ride down there and found a rooftop and check this out.

I wonder if this is somehow like The Raid/Dredd. They gotta fight their way to the roof to get the briefcase, but they have to go through the whole roster.

Brock is the final boss on the roof top. Braun is his right hand man.

Someone takes the elevator, but Randy Orton cuts the cables, killing the person inside the cab.

Get the Women's division to dress up really sexy and have them occupy various offices and they can be a "distraction".

Gronk is around for an impromptu 24/7 match.

This could be fun.

WWE should bring back Bash at the Beach at a beach in Florida

Seems goddamned obvious

If Vince doesn't want to, maybe Cody got the rights for it and AEW could do it since Jacksonville is where the beaches opened up

AEW did a Bash at the Beach themed Dynamite already, didn't they?

The trees are so out of place.

Sepholio 05-02-2020 06:56 AM

Both MITB the mens and womens MITB matches are going to take place at the same time. That's going to be...interesting. Hope Asuka takes both cases.

I love that WWE has now turned into the federation I used to make-believe with my action figures and toy wrestling ring. And by "used to," I mean currently am doing right now.

Needs more wacky storylines about dastardly plots by villains and heroes saving the world.

Lock Jaw 05-02-2020 05:32 PM

In my e-fed there was once a storyline about meteor from outer-space crashing down mid-Battle Royal and giving everybody in the fed super-powers.

I'd like to see a story like that.
