While I would like to see a decent adaptation of a Lovecraft story, this actually looks and sounds quite interesting.
Poor Lovecraft though, he's basically the most popular writers prompt in history at this point.

Might be good. But who knows. HBO has had way more shit series than good ones in the past 20 years.

For every Boardwalk Empire,Vice Principals or Eastbound and down you got shit like Oz.

I think there are plenty of people that would disagree with you about Oz.

OZ changed HBO programming forever

Oz is the most influential TV show perhaps ever. Its the pioneer of long form television and it was genuinly good on top of being the edgiest thing to hit the small screen up until that point.

HBO does indeed make some turds though and its because of those turds you get some real gems from them. HBO will take a gamble and let the creative vision take the lead. They certainly try to engineer hits now more than ever but by in large they put the art first and it shows.

First episode was fantastic.

Holy shit this show is gonna be epic. One of the best pilots I can remember watching in recent years.

Looks pretty good. gonna have to find a stream
