Am I the only one who was a really big fan of Gangrel.
Seems like it.
Maybe its because I was 12 when Gangrel was around with the brood and everything but I was always a huge fan of him. I know he is not that good of a wrestler but his character and everything was awesome and I think he couldve been a bigger star than he was. Never see anyone talk about him or another Gangrel fan though. |
Gangel was my favourite wrestler for like 3 months
No. Loved Gangrel also.
Gangrel had a presence. He was cool.
Remember when he got a 3.5 count on X-pac for the European title?
That was around the time when my fascination with Gangrel ended
You aren't alone broski. I loved Gangrel. I marked hard for The Brood, thought they were a great stable.
I don't know what that viscous substance is!
I want some of it, it looks...orgasmic. |
Lol "Viscous Substance" . Such a Vince phrase.
Be that as it may, notwithstanding, Local Medical Facility |
One of the best theme music ever
Great theme, unique look. I really miss characters in wrestling. Gangrel was great.
Loved the gimmick/character and especially the entrance. He was never going to steal a show and get past the midcard or anything but he did what he did well enough and the character and entrance was unique and intriguing.
Gangrel was cool back then.
Not only did he have one of the best entrance themes, he also had arguably the best entrance routine of the Attitude Era. Him and D'Lo were my go-to guys when it came to creating new wrestlers in WrestleMania 2000 for the N64. |
He was my mate Craig's favourite wrestler when we were lads.
I liked him too, the Brood was cool. |
I remember being amazed at how Implant DDT. He didn't to Scott Taylor in his first or second match and he planted him.
he had a great running elbow drop
Yeah he did that Buddy Landel corkscrew elbow.
Gangrel was great until they let him speak, and he went full deer in headlights.
Edge grabbed the Mic to help him out, but it instantly changed the career trajectory for both of them. |
Greatest Gangrel moment ever

Buddy's version is now one of my favourite ever moves. It looks fucking sore. |
Was never a fan of Gangrel. Cool theme music though.
Everything was great about Gangrel except he sucked at promos.
Brood was cool but only because of Edge and Christian. No one gave a shit about Gangrel.

Gangrel is one of my Boys along with Glacier, Mortis, Blackman, and Wrath.

I hated him and I don't think I ever figured out why.
I was such a mark for my boys that when Ernest the Cat and Glacier were feuding with Mortis and Wrath, I looked forward to their brawls on monday night more than any of the NWO stuff.
D'Lo Brown, Hardcore Holly, K-Kwik, Test and Stevie Richards would be in mine.
There would be more though. |
Always liked Test too Seanny, and thought he was underrated. He wasn't ever going to be a huge star or the greatest talent, especially when guys like HBK, Taker, Angle, Rock, Austin, etc. were around, but I felt like he could have been bigger than he was, especially in a different era. A mid to upper card guy that you could occasionally throw into the main event or world title scene if needed, and while he wouldn't steal the show or anything, he also wouldn't feel totally out of place if done right.
Fuckin loved Test. I thought he could have been ECW Champion. Not a true "main event guy," but in that era of three world titles, he could have had a run.
I was a big Lightning Foot Jerry Flynn guy. I remember when he beat Booker T on Nitro.
Jerry Lynn would be in mine
Also add : Lenny Lane, Mideon, Viscera, The Armstromgs (Scott and Steve), Barry Darsow, Essa Rios, High Voltage, Disorderly Conduct, Rodney from Mean Street Posse
I've said before that I didn't get cable till 2001, so these syndi stars were the only wrestlers I saw most weeks unless I got it taped.
Len Wagner was very underrated.
