Masterful Match Finishes
Besides an insane spot , the most memorable part of a match is the finish.
A finish that has significance from the story of the match or build Eg Austin passing out in the Sharpshooter bring together the storytelling and the drama in an almost poetic way. Great movies often foreshadow the ending in much the same way as great matches foreshadow the finish. My favorite has to be Bret vs taker , summer slam 97. The finish is masterful in its inception . The multiple threads in the story converge into a single chair shot. However during the whole match we are seeing the tension between hart and michaels build. This is one small critique but they should have done this just a bit more, maybe michaels getting a little handsy on Bret pulling him out of the corner when he is putting the boots to taker. Anyway I thought it was , in a word, masterful. |
Love this finish. Fuji catches Martel coming off the top with salt to the face at just the perfect moment. The towel that Martel is rubbing his face with had onions rubbing into it so Martels eyes would tear up.

Don't ruin this with pictures for fuck's sake you troglodytes.
Just use your words |
Pretty much every finish Landel and Dundee had as a tag team in Memphis 86 was glorious and looked real.
Just a phenomenal run of violence. |

Still my all-time favorite submission-based ending to a match. Also ended up being one of the best ever double turn moments as well. |
