OK, this is getting ridiculous. Someone is just pulling my leg now at this point, right? Resident Evil 4 earns itself, somewhat appropriately, a solid 4 as its average. Fine and dandy on its own but that means that the number 19 spot once again has to squeeze in another member into its orgy as we create a SEVEN-WAY TIE! Are we destined for an eight-way? Time will tell. Speaking of which, time marches on and all that jazz as we've got to pull another game out for this week. Let's go to the bowl...

Going back into the waaaaay past as we're looking at what some people call the REAL granddaddy of the first-person shooter. It's the anti-Nazi PC gunfest from id Software, Wolfenstein 3D! Wherever shall it fall on our leaderboard? Does it have the chops to be remembered as an all-time great or is it doomed to be a failure. Take the poll and rate and discuss and what not. Until next week!

Deserves recognition for being the first fps, but the genre didn't truly explode until Doom came out. Wolfenstein levEl design is very basic in comparison.

I'll give it a 3 as well. My nostalgia glasses were wanting me to give it a 4 or 5, but then I fired it up again and realized that it was "good" but not "great".

Biggest peeve is how quick the enemies can shoot, sometimes before you can even see them or react. Almost feels like a coin-op at times with how much this happens.

I was definitely too young to know or care about the story of the game, I just remember wanting to shoot stuff. It was alright.

Yeah most enemies are hit scan. Annoying.

3. And that's only because it set the stage for Doom, otherwise it would be a 2.

Never played it.

I just remember this game along with Doom and Quake being one of the games that I downloaded on a multitude of computers back in school, much to the annoyance of my teachers. A lot of people really thought and/or expected me to pull a Columbine one day. Fuckers.

Starting to feel like a broken record, but never played it.

Don't necessarily have a whole lot of love for this game but it seems odd that I never touched any of the newer Wolfenstein entries like the New Order. I've heard good things, though. I'd want to add them to the pile but that's already a pain in the ass as it is.

The new Wolfenstein games are awesome and some of the best campaign driven FPS games I've played in the last decade.

I see Silent Hill has been done in this series... perhaps eventually we'll see SH2. Recently finished that and just got started on SH3.

Can confirm both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3 are part of the new pool. They were the last two that I added. I was more open to doing more sequels this time around so we'll see when they pop up.
