Rate the Game: Week 77
Another day is upon us and I hope it finds you well. This is Rate the Game and I am M-A-G bringing you yet another week of gaming goodness...or badness, depending on whatever the subject is. That's the beauty of this whole thing! Take last week's SimCity 2000, for instance. It looked liked it did a fine job of digging up some nostalgia but overall, where shall it end up on our glorious leaderboard? Goodness? Badness? Let's see....

Ghosts n' Goblins (2.14) Well for such a modest computer title it's got some chops. SimCity 2000 takes the number 34 spot with a pretty good overall rating of 3.8. Not enough to threaten the elites up at the top but apparently above the class of fellow simulation title, The Sims, that's been sitting miserably near the bottom for all this time. But this is a new week so we've got some more business to tackle. Let's see what our 77th edition has in store for us this week. Give us some of that .gif goodness....
via GIPHY
Bleh, could have edited that better. Rate the Game: Week 77 sees us taking a look at one of Rockstar's huge titles, Red Dead Redemption! It's GTA in the wild west, sort of, but the real question is how does it fare with you? You know the drill. Make with the voting and let's reflect on the times spent with this game and we'll see what next week has in store. Have fun. |
Never played it.
Yeah. This is a 5.
I'd give it a 4.5 due to the sorta botched ending. But I'll be nice. |
4
Only because I find the sequel to be superior. |
It stuck out with the shooting system at the time, for me anyway. Fun stuff. II definitely superior in every way.
Confession time: another big name title that I passed up. My friend was all about it when it first came out but, again, with it being open world and what not I was put off and never gave it a go. It didn't look bad, though, and it was quite the feat in terms of graphics.
the 1st is outrageously fun. shame i didnt enjoy the sequel at all. i wanted to so bad.
5. Enjoyed both games tremendously but I liked part 1 a lot more.
Wait, I think I'm getting this confused with Red Dead Revolver because this one came out way after I had moved up here and never saw anyone play anything remotely similar to this. If that's the case then my experience with this game is even less than what I said before.
Also, is there a reason why this game needed an add-on pack that had Marsten fighting zombies?
revolver wasnt very good
the zombies expansion is absolutely outstanding |
hunting jackalopes...riding unicorns. a+
OK, I'll give it a pass on the riding unicorns thing.
The zombie expansion for RDR might be the absolute best piece of DLC ever imo.
id like to see the top 5 list that doesnt include it cause theres clearly some content i need to get at
That's impossible. But 5 other great ones off the top of my head would be both GTA 4 expansions, both Witcher 3 expansions and the Tiny Tina D&D expansion in Borderlands 2. I'd still take Undead Nightmare over both of them. I am extremely disappointed that Rockstar has not given us a sequel to it in RDR2. Or prequel. Whatever.

Also, this was an easy 5 for me. As far as Revolver being "not very good", I'll just say I found it decent and fun if somewhat lackluster in the gunplay department. I mostly enjoyed the "spaghetti" western style story though. |

Which would be the living...who you would work towards making the dead. Oh, dear, I've gone cross-eyed.
R.I.P. M-A-G's sanity.
Unfortunately his sanity will not be able to rest in peace as it has been earmarked for an undead turn in a future DLC.
Fucking dammit, I set myself up for that one. Well played, Seph. 🤣

Great game up until the end which Rockstar went a direction not many agreed with. Some people who've played probably know what I'm talking about. |
