weather vane 02-18-2022 10:50 AM

Who inducts him? Paul Barer?

Bad News Gertner 02-18-2022 10:52 AM

It's gotta be Kane!

Pulling back the curtain a bit, hope this isn't too inside baseball but... the big reveal is... Taker it Easy is my older brother. He took the gimmick all the way, past TPWW to the real world and created stickers of Taker it Easy all around his town, on stop signs and other places people would often look. It was a bit of a local phenomenon to say the least. I may have to ask him to make an appearance but he will be upset I outed him.

drave 02-18-2022 11:20 AM

I too, say it in real life.

??

He's for realsies dead, not kayfabe dead.

Evil Vito 02-18-2022 01:08 PM

A lay-up of a decision in Texas. Good news.

Evil Vito 02-18-2022 01:08 PM

Apparently the HOF is being taped after a SmackDown taping. Almost makes me wonder if Taker could just go in solo aka Andre. Would be well deserved.

ron the dial 02-18-2022 01:09 PM

lol i love that paul bearer is an "american funeral director" when you google him

ron the dial 02-18-2022 01:12 PM

wait how did i not know he actually worked in that industry? going back to like 79? wow. amazing. even better.

Damn sement

Mr. Nerfect 02-18-2022 01:57 PM

You know what would be eerie and touching? Is if Paul Bearer, who knew he was not in excellent health, recorded a message for The Undertaker for when he did inevitably did go into the Hall of Fame.

Was just looking up William Moody. Had no clue one of his sons died later the same year they went out to accept his induction in 2014.

drave 02-18-2022 02:06 PM

Yeah, that'd be cool

xrodmuc316 02-18-2022 02:19 PM

Michelle McCool probably gonna induct him

Maluco 02-18-2022 02:33 PM

I made a long thread about this years and years ago, but I think he is the best of all time.

It is certainly the best gimmick of all time.

But when you add it all together, his longevity, evolution of his character, ability to get over the most stupid of stories and the very worst opponents, how he excelled performance wise with the best opponents. It’s tough to argue against.

The only thing he has missing is his ability to be the very top guy, but he was in the top 3-4 guys for 25 years!

Most other candidates fall well short on longevity, match quality, or even their ability to stay fresh over a longer period. He is near the top of the list on every category.

I’ve never been a big Taker fan. I don’t really agree with your specifics here, except for him not drawing at the top level, but he’s definitely a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Rammsteinmad 02-19-2022 06:29 AM

I'd laugh my ass off if he accepted it in character. Came out, took the award, did his kneeling down pose thingy and then buggered off. Everyone's "wtf?" reaction would actually be worth it.

Jordan 02-19-2022 08:36 AM

Here is a stat for you guys talking Taker wasn't a "main guy"...

In WWE PPV history the two people with the most main event 1 vs 1 matches on a PPV are tied at 39 each. John Cena and The Undertaker.

Also The Undertaker and Steve Austin hold the record for most rematches in a main event of a PPV with 6 times the pair has went 1 on 1.

That speaks more to his longevity than anything else though.

It would be interesting to see how many of those main events were against legitimately bigger stars.

Destor 02-19-2022 06:34 PM

any argument that taker wasnt a main is absurd. he was a special attraction for over 25 years. that means he's on every piece of promotional material. for decades. he was a main guy. just because he was used as a special attraction and not in a more conventional way doesnt change the fact he was a top of the card talent.

next youll tell me andre wasnt a main guy

How did I miss this big reveal?

XL 02-20-2022 07:37 AM

I’d be quite happy with a One Man HOF this year. Do it as a roast style event where all the guys that mean something to Taker come on and do 5 minutes, then have a sentimental piece at the end to induct him.

100% this

Bad News Gertner 02-20-2022 07:55 PM

Brian Lee should accept the award as Faker Taker, then have Taker come out as The Egg Man and have an all out brawl

Only if Gallows inducts him dressed up as Fake Kane!

Bad News Gertner 03-07-2022 10:09 PM

I swe Brusier Brody was inducted as a Legacy entry in 2019. It's too bad they did that. They could have posthumously inducted Brody this year with it being in Texas.

Stan Hansen could have inducted.
