Have to hand it to red velvet. She’s improved leaps and bounds. Tonight was probably her best match in the company and the heel turn and playing lackey for Jade has suddenly rejuvenated get character. She was a botch machine a year ago and now I find myself enjoying her matches.

The trios main event was a blast. Although I think Ospreay should be doing something more important than wrestling Trent.

I missed the end of the show because I was a sleepy boy. Did they signal its going to be Ospreay and Trent at Forbidden Door?

If we get that instead of Ospreay vs PAC I swear to god, Tony, I will start sharing memes on this forum so fast

No they didn’t thank god. I’m just complaining that bringing in Ospreay, and putting him in a trios match with Trent, and not putting him over in said match is underwhelming booking. Trent is fine beating the bottom of the card jobbers in Dark and getting low stakes tag wins. He shouldn’t be going over a team led by Ospreay when Ospreay was in the match and is trying intro’s to a lot of new fans in the states. They should’ve had Will pickup the win.

Sounds like typical Tony booking, aka AEWTF.

Guys, Will Ospreay didn’t get pinned. FTR and Beretta got the win over Aussie Open. They’re a bit of a dream team. Beretta is a member of Chaos and had a legendary run in New Japan, so people over there know him. He’ll probably end up losing to Ospreay when they do eventually wrestle one-on-one. Tony is a fantastic booker and knows exactly what he’s doing.

Guys, you’ve got to see the bigger picture. New Japan wouldn’t allow this to happen if there wasn’t a plan. They obviously have nothing but total faith in Tony Khan, so we should too. Maybe New Japan has got plans for Beretta & FTR. I think they would all be awesome in New Japan, and they can get them a lot since they aren’t always booked.

I’m being facetious and I welcome people turning on AEW, don’t get me wrong, but I will say this:

Tony Khan really wants this New Japan thing to work. I think there are problems there. Their partnerships prove problematic because they spotlight the guys on AEW and there’s no sticky reason to follow them to New Japan, AAA, Impact Wrestling, whatever. AEW audiences just get the flavor and move on. Plus it creates market confusion for some fans who just want to watch AEW and are kind of fatigued by seeing all these other people come in without much introduction. And then they’re going to go away.

But TK is not booking Will Ospreay to lose unless New Japan gives it the go-ahead. Some things with this are going to be “LolAEW.” Especially things like a guy just showing up and the show expecting us to know/care who they are. But this is a reflection of what New Japan wants too, so there should be criticism there too if you’re not buying this Trent Beretta thing.

I think it’s a safe bet that New Japan wants him and/or FTR featured in prominent roles. And New Japan is going to get a lot of what it wants. It’s possible that Beretta is going to spend a bit of time “on excursion” working for them, whether that be stateside or in Japan proper. They seem to like him. The problem is, talented as he might be, AEW’s booking of him to this point in time, has been to be goofy and completely mid-card. That’s on them.

Also frustrating is that AEW’s glut is not fixed by losing Trent Beretta for a while. Nor FTR (it’s just sad they’re not featured more). It’s talent taking up fairly consistent spots at the top that really don’t need to be there.

By proxy yes. Such an odd decision. That’s a guy I’d be holding the shit out of for the joint ppv. And hoping to get in his favor for a future Omega match.

So Singh won’t put on 5 star classics anytime soon but if he can sell he might be ok.

I really felt the Statlander match should have ended faster. But it was RVs best match I have seen so that’s a bonus.

I really love Ember moon but I want Stat to beat Jade and I feel like it should happen soonish too.

I agree Stat should be the one to dethrone Jade.
