Good for Johnny. Guy had great timing with having a kid. Supposedly he’s been very careful with his money throughout his career, so he had no great rush to return and he ended up getting to wait it out for the right situation. Once Hunter got the book it seemed like a formality. Hope he kills it on the main roster.

When Cornette used to review NXT I remember a running joke was that someone would get kidnapped seemingly every week. And not by just one guy with a “kidnapping” gimmick but it was just an odd booking crutch. Lol
Apparently they brought it to the main roster now. |
The Kidnapping gimmick was a TNA staple. Think it got released before making a big splash in NXT. Good to see finally making the big stage.

They’re building a very good US Title division here. I expected Ciampa to beat Lashley for the belt allowing Bobby to move on to something more “main event” and for Gargano to debut to pick things back up with Ciampa. Glad they’ve take Gargano in a different direction for now, and a natural one if you’re familiar with his history with Theory. I’d expect a (2nd) main roster run from DIY at some point in the future.
Lashley, Ciampa, Gargano, Theory, Ziggler, Miz, Lumis, Styles, Riddle is a nice little upper midcard. DIY, Alpha Academy, Street Profits, RK-Bro (if they want to revisit that), Mysterios, Legado Del Fantasma (if they come up) is a great foundation for a tag division too. |
