The Last of Us (HBO)
Making an "official" discussion thread since it seems that enough of us are watching this thing.
Show really just giving me one more thing to be paranoid about..... zombie movies/stuff, sure they can be scary, but I know it isn't really "practical".... But this I feel like could actually happen so makes me more nervous..... |
No game spoilers in here please unless you mark specifically as a game spoiler and put it in tags....
Otherwise, discuss your thoughts and theories here.... |
What if
It is all just a prequel to Super Mario and what we are seeing is the birth of the Mushroom Kingdom? |
If you squint hard enough, Pedro Pascal does look like Chris Pratt.
|
Opening scenes of both eps 1 and 2 gave me anxiety
Good show |

I never played the game, but read the story. They're doing a helluva job. The entire show, if it continues on course, will make you waaaaay more uncomfortable, and that's the point. Does a better job at looking at humanity post-apocalypse than TWD |
Nick Offerman deserves an Emmy nom for this episode
:'( |
Emotional episode.... different than the first two for sure.... wonder if there will be more "one off" episodes exploring the history of people/settings that Joel and Ellie encounter....
|
Biggest question of last night's episode though: Ellie has never been in a car, is naive to a lot of other stuff of the "larger world".... but how does she instantly know what a cassette tape is and what to do with it?!
|
I love Anna Torv for the record. She has a lifetime pass from me after Fringe, not that she needs it, because she is still killing it!

I've never been on a cruise or a boat, but I know what a life jacket is and how to use it. |
You comparing a life jacket with a cassette tape?
Cassettes would have already been obsolete by 2003. Pretty sure life jackets would have still been around. |
cassettes were definitely not obsolete in 2003. plenty of cars on the road at the time (including mine) had a cassette player. i still buy cassettes to this day (although yes now i am very much in the minority on that one).
not that it matters. this level of nitpicking in shit is so annoying to me. get over it, nerd. |

that being said i've been loving this show so far, especially the last episode. fleshed things out a bit while bringing a great contained love story into the mix. i was hoping for more nick offerman in the show when i found out he was on it, but this was too good for me to bothered that he won't return.

Would you have preferred an Interrobang? |

i was just on one this morning and for whatever reason this thread set me off...
|
You just need a good Interrobang: ‽

I forgot to say I am watching for geo graphic accuracy btw

OssMan watches TV with a stack of atlases by his side.

Also they added a in remembrance to Annie Wersching to the beginning of the 3rd episode, which is nice. I never played the game but I bet she was awesome in at.

You like knowing the route for sure. |

SPOILER: show |
Have my days all mixed up so I thought today was Sunday, so waited until tonight to watch the latest episode... which was apparently released on Friday anyways....
SPOILER: show |
Great episode this week.... emotional....
|
Why does every episode gotta be a punch to the feeling factory?
|
That's the game
|
Is it nearly done yet? I’m going to watch it once it’s all available.
|
Not seen a single episode, but read they are doing a 1:1 of the game? I dunno.
Here's the entire story, with gameplay, no annoying commentary. 6 hours https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkLPKd-Vs8g |
