AEW: ALL OUT 2023

Frank Drebin 09-03-2023 09:48 AM

Absolute garbage card. Was irresponsible to run back to back ppvs.

#1-norm-fan 09-03-2023 10:03 AM

Yeah, I thought the card for the UK show looked underwhelming. Didn’t even realize that was not this year’s All Out. What the hell…

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 11:59 AM

Mox/OC, Omega/Takeshita, Danielson/Starks, Miro/Hobbs, 8-man tag, Eddie/Shibata teaming, and ROH tag all intrigue me. I've not really watched ROH so I don't know much about Shane Taylor - feel like Joe could get a good match out of pretty much anyone though so I'd think that'll be good.

Don't care about Stat/Ruby. Love Stat but the women's division is a shambles. Darby vs. Luchasaurus holds little interest to me either, Darby vs. Christian is the real appeal and I'm sure we'll get it at Grand Slam or something. Luchasaurus is just there to bump Darby around and then presumably lose and Christian can get mad at him.

It's as good of a card as I reasonably could've hoped for on a one-week build, but I do think back to back PPVs is a fucking stupid concept in general.

About as sloppy and thrown together as it gets
Miro/Hobbs and Danielson/Starks should be the standouts

Silver/Reynolds have no business being in a ppv match with MJF

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 12:03 PM

Tony Khan said he did try to do an All In/All Out PPV package deal (so you'd get, say, both PPVs for $75 aka buy 1 get 1 half off) or something. But he's involved with BR, Fite, and traditional PPV providers and he just couldn't get everyone on the same page.

While I understand it might've been complex to pull off, when he failed to do so this is the kind of thing where Khan should've reserved the right to pull All Out from PPV entirely and just make it free. Which is basically what he's doing with a lot of international markets who will get tonight's show on YouTube.

I assume that's on there so Jade can return at the end of it, can't think of any other reason

Conversely I've always loved the Beaver Boys going back to their indy days. Feel like I've enjoyed every "big" tag match they've had in AEW. They invariably always end up coming up short but they've got the right kind of fire that you need in tag specialists.

Pretty sure they've also been friends with MJF for years as they all worked the Long Island indy circuits so I think they'll have some pretty good chemistry out there too. Feels like a perfectly good heel team to put MJF/Cole over as we head into Grand Slam.

Frank Drebin 09-03-2023 02:17 PM

Vito, you can't honestly look at all those matches you mentioned and tell me with a straight face they all "intrigue" you. Those are all Rampage level matches save for maybe a couple of them.

GD 09-03-2023 02:32 PM

Really looking forward to OC vs Mox and Omega vs Konouske. Everything else is just cherry on top. Looks like a great card.

Uh, yes I can and I have. Really no reason those matches won’t cook if given the amount of time that AEW typically gives its PPV matches.

I disagree with the decision of running back to back PPVs but that doesn’t mean I don’t think the show itself will be good.

Reasonable take

+1

100% less interested.

Mr. Nerfect 09-03-2023 04:10 PM

No one cares about this show. Put it in the trash.

Can't speak for everyone now, can you? For someone who doesn't like the product, you sure seem to spend a good amount of time complaining about it. Kinda sad.

Put a world title match on this card and it’s a really good card in my books.

I do feel like they could have done more in recent weeks to highlight Takeshita and Omega and it would have been a more accepted main event but OC and Mox is something I will enjoy.

Frank Drebin 09-03-2023 05:29 PM

Yeah....Some build to Takeshita v Omega would have been nice. Really like Takeshita and where he could go. A mouthpiece may always be needed but he's got something going. Unfortunately, AEW hot shot booking won't do him any favors.

It kind of got lost in the multi man stuff, it just needed a quick angle this week to reignite the one on one that wasnt just a talk piece. An attack on Omega, Omega corners Don, just something to remind us how personal it all was and boom your off.

I am confident the match itself will be great.

xrodmuc316 09-03-2023 06:51 PM

Shane Taylor getting a 1 on 1 match at an AEW PPV before Keith Lee is still funny

Mr. JL 09-03-2023 07:00 PM

I think there's a lot of great sleeper matches on the card but I do not think there's a match that is going to really draw.

Ben Rodrigues 09-03-2023 07:18 PM

Not watching but interested in the crowd reaction. On one hand it's Chicago on the other I can't imagine interest in going and being vocal if your reason going is Punk. So maybe it will be a pro Elite crowd.

GD 09-03-2023 07:18 PM

Quality battle royal so far

GD 09-03-2023 07:19 PM

I can't stand Garcia's dance.

GD 09-03-2023 07:21 PM

Digging the Trent and Page alliance.

GD 09-03-2023 07:22 PM

GD 09-03-2023 07:24 PM

Chicago crowd chanting "Cowboy shit"

GD 09-03-2023 07:27 PM

"Hangman" Adam Page getting cheered by the Chicago crowd for winning the "Over Budget" Charity Battle Royal

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 07:27 PM

That was a fun battle royal. Love that Tony Khan is a battle Royal fan.

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 07:27 PM

The “put me down!” spot with Cool Hand Ang popped me big time

GD 09-03-2023 07:31 PM

Does local pyromaniac Skye Blue have any redeeming qualities besides her physical attributes?

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 07:31 PM

Shida rocking the All In gear again

GD 09-03-2023 07:32 PM

Genuinely stoked to see Athena in action.

GD 09-03-2023 07:34 PM

A very small group of lads chanting for Skye Blue. A true Chicago legend.

GD 09-03-2023 07:43 PM

Wow! Skye Blue's "Code Red" was atrocious. Amazing Red rolling in his grave :nono:

Evil Vito 09-03-2023 07:59 PM

I hope Tony books David Arquette next

GD 09-03-2023 08:05 PM

Reynolds and Silver are a joy to watch in the ring. I'm glad they're given this opportunity to perform on PPV. Good stuff.

rez 09-03-2023 08:05 PM

wonder if the copyright police are even gonna bother hunting streams

GD 09-03-2023 08:07 PM

The "CM Punk" chants are deafening

GD 09-03-2023 08:07 PM

MJF getting crowds to chant "sportsmanship" is a trip
