[mainstream] Rap today sucks... but there is a lot of good rap today - you just won't hear it on MTV or the radio.

You have to look hard to find it, though :-\ Thank god I don't listen to just one genre, so if I don't like whats going on in one genre I can listen to something else. Lots of people can't do that these days...

Rap has been milked of its essence, and turned into pretty much another facet of boy bands. Hell, half the acts out there get up there and dance like the boy bands.

Even worse, half the non-"mainstream" acts try and emulate MTV. That doesn't just apply to rap.

Anyway to the topic I'd say Lloyd pisses on Young Buck and Eminem/50 is close but I'll say 50.

Pearl Jam is coming up with new material now, for a release early next year I hear...it will own any other album released till then.
