Bad Blood June 13th 2004

Shawn Michaels and Triple H were once the best of friends. As members of the rebel faction D-Generation X, HBK and The Game ruled WWE. Then, injury stole Michaels from the sports entertainment business. With HBK sidelined for the better part of four years, Triple H set out to make a name for himself on his own. En route to becoming a main eventer, Triple H destroyed Michaels' character at any chance he could, thinking he would never have to deal with HBK again.

Then in 2002, Michaels miraculously returned to WWE. His first target - Triple H. The rest has been history. In fact, it may even be history's greatest rivalry, as these two RAW Superstars have not only competed nearly every type of match imaginable, they have even traded World Heavyweight Championship victories.

Now on June 13, live on pay-per-view, Shawn Michaels and Triple H look to settle their score once and for all in the most unforgiving match imaginable, the Hell in a Cell Match.

Since winning the Royal Rumble in January, Chris Benoit has been on the biggest roll of his career. He successfully forced both Triple H and Shawn Michaels to tap out, in addition to capturing the World Tag Team Championship with partner Edge. Clearly, momentum is on Chris Benoit's side.

That momentum, however, may come to a crashing halt on Sunday, June 13, when Benoit puts his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the monster Kane. The Big Red Machine recently won a 20-man, over-the-top-rope battle royal to become the No. 1 contender to Benoit's title.

A reign as World Champion is not something Kane is a stranger to. The question is whether the former WWE Champion can stop Benoit's amazing ride at the top at Bad Blood. Order the pay-per-view to find out.

Shelton Benjamin has been on a roll since arriving on RAW. The former University of Minnesota amateur wrestling star has had Evolution's number, scoring victories over Triple H, on more than one occasion, as well as over Ric Flair.

Meanwhile, Randy Orton has been on a roll of his own. The third-generation Superstar took on the name "Legend Killer" after his was able to embarrass or defeat, or both, several Hall of Famers and future Hall of Famers, everyone from Fabulous Moolah and Sgt. Slaughter to Mick Foley and Harley Race.

Orton believes that Benjamin isn't even in his league because Benjamin is not a legend. But Benjamin was able to defeat Orton on RAW and earn a shot at the Intercontinental Championship on Sunday, June 13 at Bad Blood. Which of these young Superstars will keep their momentum going?

Women's Champion Victoria had been preparing for a Bad Blood title defense against No. 1 challenger Gail Kim. Unfortunately for both combatants, General Manager Eric Bischoff made the situation much more complicated this past week on RAW.

In the GM's eyes, Lita earned her way into the title match when she DDT'd her way to an upset victory over Gail Kim on Monday night. Things didn't end there when Trish talked her way into the match thanks to a recent win over Lita.

It might be unclear who the "true" No. 1 contender is come Sunday's pay-per-view event, but it's assured that Victoria will now have to fight off three top-quality foes - and if she's able to deliver the Widow's Peak, it probably won't matter who's on the receiving end.

Christian and Trish Stratus have had a problem with Chris Jericho for months. The only way to rid themselves of their problem, they feel, was to hire a problem solver. They did just that when they started walking around with the mammoth Tyson Tomko, aka the Problem Solver.

Since Tomko has been by the side of both Christian and Trish, he has managed to decimate Jericho at every chance given, including sending him through the announce table several weeks ago on Monday Night RAW. Unbelievably, however, Y2J refuses to sit home and convalesce his injuries. Rather, he keeps going at Tomko, looking for revenge. Jericho may gain his ultimate revenge this Sunday on pay-per-view when he battles the Problem Solver one on one.

Chris Benoit is not only involved in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Bad Blood, he is also going for the World Tag Team Championship with his partner Edge. Can the former champs overcome their recent differences to compete as a cohesive unit? Find out this Sunday as the challenge La Resistance at Bad Blood.

Judging by fan reaction from arenas across the country, everyone seems to love Eugene ... everyone except for Jonathan Coachman.

Under the tutelage of William Regal, Eugene is undefeated on Monday Night RAW. Coachman boasts a perfect record in pay-per-view events. Someone's streak will have to end at Bad Blood. Order the pay-per-view event to find out who it will be.

Common sense would indicate that Shelton Benjamin is going over Randy Orton, since Benjamin lost to Batista on RAW. It is also believed that dropping the title could be a huge boost for Orton. The only thing that could potentially change such an obvious finish is that Benjamin did not catch on as well as expected since his push began.

One has to expect the Benoit/Edge feud will once again be teased in their match on Sunday.

A lot of wrestlers are looking forward to Tomko's match against Jericho. Not only has the Jericho/Trish/Christian/Tomko storyline been a huge part of RAW for a long time, but Tomko's reputation and future with the company will largely be based off this match.

Regardless of the outcome, the HBK vs. HHH Cell match will be the typical bloodbath that's come to be expected from all such matches. Although a definite finish is not readily obvious. Being that HBK has to leve I see him losing.

It'll be interesting to see Tyson Tomko finally wrestle. Unfortunatly wrestlers debute matchs they usually go over. I just want this Trish thing to end with Jericho so he can move up in the cards.

Benoit's expected to beat Kane tomorrow, setting up either Benoit vs. Edge (or possibly Benoit vs. HHH) at Vengeance. The "wrestling two matches" angle is designed to make Benoit seem to be the underdog, only for him to escape with a win.

Wildcat789 06-13-2004 01:48 PM

I never heard anything about HBK leaving...

WTF is that about?

Joe Kerr 06-13-2004 01:52 PM

He is gonna be gone a few weeks for the birth of his child..He isnt permantly leaving just taking some time off.

Kane Knight 06-13-2004 02:27 PM

Evidently, the WWE needs new photgraphers.

PICK ME! PICK ME!

Kane Knight 06-13-2004 02:34 PM

I'm taking bets...

Odds of Shawn Michael's bald spot showing: 1:1

Odds of Michaels blading in an attempt to bleed more than Eddie 2:1

Odds of arena goers wanting their money back 6:1

Odds of fans being satisfied by the main event: 2 to the power of 240,000:1 against and falling...

Odds of multiple Pedigrees: 1:1

Odds of fifteen or more Pedigrees: 2:1

Wild Card: Odds of Michaels and HHH making out in the ring to end their feud: 4:1

Joe Kerr 06-13-2004 02:36 PM

LOL they will settle there feud in a game of chess

HHH- I am the Game and you dont want to play me!!

HBK -- Check mate!

HHH- (breathing heavily)

tucsonspeed6 06-13-2004 02:41 PM

You can't be that rough on the main event, KK. When it comes to carrying HHH, he isn't as heavy as everyone thinks, and HBK is still pretty good. The feud has been going on for too long, yes, but if this ends the feud I don't see why it would lose that much heat. Also the two guys do click in the ring, albeit not as good as some of the greats (Benoit/Angle) but I don't think that will make the main event any less satisfying.

Innovator 06-13-2004 02:41 PM

HHH would no sell checkmate

Wildcat789 06-13-2004 02:46 PM

Thankfully, I'm not paying for this pay per view, but I will be watching it at Hooters. The two main things I would like to see are:

1) Jericho over Tomko. For the love of GOD, Jericho over Tomko.

2) Orton over Benjamin.

Shelton is good. I don't mind him. But firstly, his name is Shelton. SHELTON. Say that to yourself a few times, then count your lucky stars the name is not your own. But he seriously needs some mic work before they consider giving him the push that it looks like they're trying to give him, IMHO.

As for Jericho, it would make absolutely no sense to put that tattooed fuc</>kwad over him...unless maybe Christian comes back and costs him the match. I think that'd be a bad move though, seeing as to how Jericho gets punked so often by the Problem Solving Trio. Jericho needs a win, and he needs it now. If Christian does interefere, I hope it's a botched interference and Jericho still wins.

Oh, and GO EUGENE!

Eugene/Coach = Best match

What?

Joe Kerr 06-13-2004 03:42 PM

My picks

Hell in A Cell
HHH as much as i want it to be HBK I feel its HHH

Benoit vs. Kane
Benoit

Orton vs. Benjamin
Shelton I think Ortons had the belt long enough and I beleive they want to establish Shelton

La Resistance vs. Benoit/Edge
La Resistance Mainly to start the feud up of Edge

Coach vs. Eugene
Eugene Undefeated streak... I also think Johny Nitro is gonna cause Coach to loose

Gail Kim vs. Lita vs. Trish vs. Victoria
Gail Kim.....This is a tough one I can almost see Victoria retaining but Im thinking itll be Gail again possible to start a feud between Molly and Gail turning one face.

Y2J vs. Tomko
Tomko its his debut match and keep in mind christian has been gone the last few weeks and could very well cause Y2J the match

ilt_undertaker 06-13-2004 03:48 PM

Funaki will NOT win the title

ilt_undertaker 06-13-2004 03:48 PM

You can never be too sure these days!

Anyway, Coach is cool. I've no problem with him....EXCEPT WHEN HE'S WRESTLING ON THE DAMN PPV. What do they have against using actual wrestlers anyway?

Yeah another one would be nice for me. I have completely drowned my sorrows after seeing England lose 2-1 to France (bit off topic but no one will catch onto that shoot :shifty: )

Anyway, I will be happy with Benjamin winning the IC title, Benoit beating Kane and Eugene showing Coach who the real retard is.

Fox 06-13-2004 07:50 PM

My obsession with professional wrestling has become painfully apparent to me, as I actually plan to order Bad Blood tonight. Here are my predictions:

-HBK vs. HHH: HBK's career is almost over, and he knows it. However, his best friend, Triple H's, career is still in mid-stride. Shawn will put over his friend in what I hope will be a classic encounter inside the Hell in a Cell. If it's not, I'm going to be extremely pissed off because this match is the only reason I'm ordering the PPV.

-Benoit vs. Kane: Obviously Benoit is going to walk out of Bad Blood with the World Heavyweight Championship. The question is: will Edge get involved?

-Shelton Benjmain vs. Randy Orton: Orton may be the longest reigning IC Champion in 7 years, but tonight his run comes to an end. Bet on Benjmain to walk out of Bad Blood with the gold.

-Victoria vs. Trish Stratus vs. Gail Kim vs. Lita: The real question here is: will Victoria do her stupid ass dance before the match? Stratus doesn't need the belt, and nobody gives a crap about Lita McBotcher. So I'm going to go with a Gail Kim victory, as the Victoria "I LOVE EVERYTHING!" gimmick is dying fast.

-Chris Jericho vs. Tyson Tomko: So why wasn't Jericho traded to Smackdown again? So that he could feud with radioactively green pieces of shit like Tomko? He could be wrestling Eddie Guerrero and Booker T, but instead he's stuck hauling this guy to a watchable match. Jericho wins, or I cut off my middle finger and mail it to the Titan Towers.

-Benoit & Edge vs. La Resistance: They seriously couldn't think of anything better than a Tag Title rematch? Very disappointing. Edge costs his team the victory.

-Eugene vs. The Coach: Eugene is a good wrestler, so why put him against a non-wrestler like The Coach? Oh, that's right, because Vince McMahon is an idiot. Eugene wins in comical fashion.

Innovator 06-13-2004 07:52 PM

radioactive green is the best description of Tomko yet

Savio 06-13-2004 07:59 PM

They are gonna burry Kkane tonight......I must not lose hope.....GO KANE!

Savio 06-13-2004 08:15 PM

hmmm Batista vs Maven.

Innovator 06-13-2004 08:18 PM

haha Coach is rocking the Michigan shirt at Ohio State

gotta love cheap heat

Joe Kerr 06-13-2004 08:19 PM

Al Snow should just punch Coach

Favre4Ever 06-13-2004 08:40 PM

I can't get this PPV tonight due to exam studies, so i'll be tuning in. If its as great a paperview as it looks to be, i might buy it on dvd.

HHH/HBK - We've gotta have a happy ending to this thing!!! HBK's been trying to beat HHH fair and square for a while now; tonight, the Heartbreak kids' got the Game's number! Winner: HBK baby!

Benoit/ Kane - wasn't Kanes last title run for twenty four hours? Lets change this! Don't have JR screaming "BRIMSTONE AND HELL FIRE BIG RED MACHINE BAH GAWD!" for nothing over there. Winner: Kane

Orton/ Benjamin: Orton is gonna pull a fast one here, and deep down inside, you all know it. Look for the cheap win or Evolution run in. Winner: Legend Killer!

Women's Title Match: We got some talent going for the ladies right now, itsa maaad higher than its ever been. If Lita doesnt commit suicide with a moonsault, I look for her to finally take the title for the first time since shes been back; if for nothing else, to progress the Kane/Lita "Secret!" that the WWE can't seem to figure out.
Winner: ........Lita(ducks)

Jericho/ Tomko - The only Problem that needs to be solved tonight is Tomko being on my tv screen. If he's not Christians sidekick, he aint nothin. The guy reminds me of an early Batista. In the future, if I ever see "Tomko vs. Batista" headlining a PPV, i'll gouge out my eyes with a pair of wire cutters.
Winner: Jericho

Tag Titles: No good tag teams. Period. Tag divisions done. They keep switching singles wrestlers into the tag division, and the only guys its worked for is Holly/Gunn(bite me) and Rico/Haas. Winner: La Resistance.

Coach/ Eugene - COACH! COACH! COACH! COACH! COACH!
Winner: Eugene
