How do ISO files work?

I know it has something to do with burning to a CD, but I'd like a better explanation that that.

Boomer 06-17-2004 08:07 PM

It's a CD image. Plain and simple. Enclosed are the files on the CD and how the CD should be burned. So find the right program and it should burn quite easily.

Nero I would suggest

sadio8 06-17-2004 08:26 PM

Yes you need to burn the iso file onto a cd. use Nero. Go through the task menu untill you get a option called "burn image" then select the iso and burn!

Funky Fly 06-17-2004 10:01 PM

Where can I get me some Nero?

sadio8 06-17-2004 10:25 PM

well my friend
download the trial version
get the serial for it :)
just download the newest version of nero and tell me the version # you have :)

Funky Fly 06-18-2004 01:36 AM

K. Finally, I can get rid of that godawful Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum. It's legal, but it's oh, so shitty. :nono:

It's funny though, that they're making the trial version in 3 parts.

sadio8 06-18-2004 01:48 AM

haha. Just get nero till alot better :)

Funky Fly 06-18-2004 02:05 AM

Nero 6 Ultra Edition

That's the trial version I have.

So hook me up with a Serial or something.

Goldbird 06-18-2004 02:07 AM

Hey, I recommend ISO buster if you need to crack iso's, or alcohol 120% to burn image files.

Nero Burning ROM 6 Ultra Edition - (Make sure you dont have an older copy of Nero already installed!) - SERIAL# 1A23-0006-7130-1204-8976-4901 [PHX0DAY @ 07-11-2003] -or- S/n: 1A23-2032-2072-9977-8269-3035 [ORiON]

Try any of those. And yes Alcohol 120%( another burning program) is good to use to burn image files!

Jonster 06-18-2004 11:53 AM

Tut tut tut, downloading illegal files to burn to cd's.
Shame on you people :|
You'd <s>always</s> never catch me doing that...

sadio8 06-18-2004 12:02 PM

Ahem its for "Educational" purposes ;)

Goldbird 06-18-2004 12:44 PM

The more people know about image files, the more it benefits mankind :)

Jonster 06-18-2004 02:26 PM

Spread the knowledge people.

:shifty:

Just waiting for the .bin and .cue thread now...

sadio8 06-18-2004 03:59 PM

Thanks, sadio.

Now, about those .bin and .cue files :shifty: ...

Jonster 06-18-2004 09:22 PM

It's another story for another time...

Basically you just select the .cue file instead of the .iso.

The .cue file links to the .bin file that has all the data in it.

Ughhhh, too much to take in right now. :(

Goldbird 06-19-2004 03:47 AM

When you download warez files from the internet, they USUALLY come in bin. and cue. files. the bin. file contains all the data inside, while the cue. file is just a directory to that bin. file.

Use programs like alcohol 120% (my favourite :) ) to burn the bin. file onto a virtual drive and aloha! you can play the game! :D

When dealing with that, just select the .cue file when choosing "Burn image". Make sure that the .bin file is in the same directory.

Funky Fly 06-22-2004 08:21 PM

Nice.
