RVD news

Rob Van Dam's contract will expire on 6/27, but from what I've heard he has verbally agreed to a new multi-year deal with the company. Though, as of last word he has not officially re-signed.

There had been some talk which has recently subsided, that RVD would be leaving the company once his current contract was up. But there is some feeling that if RVD does leave WWE, there will really be nowhere else for him to go due to the fact that Japan is not what it once was nowadays and most guys who work with WWE don't fathom the idea of going back to Japan. The money is less over there and the style of wrestling is physically harder on the body, as well as the audience response being a lot less.

Many feel that RVD could do well working indies short-term, though he wouldn't even come near what he is earning in WWE and many feel that it is much too big of a risk to take with a career such as this.

big_bluto 06-18-2004 12:29 PM

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Corkscrewed again.

c4g2 06-18-2004 12:38 PM

Sign it!

Sephiroth 06-18-2004 01:11 PM

Rob need to sign, and turn heel....PLEASE ROB, JUST DO IT!!! :shifty:

Favre4Ever 06-18-2004 05:53 PM

Innovator 06-18-2004 05:55 PM

RVD RVD RVD RVD RVD RVD RVD RVD RVD

Kane Knight 06-18-2004 06:01 PM

Rob'll get pushed until he signs, then he'll be buried again.

Azriel 06-18-2004 07:39 PM

RVD better sign damnit

Funky Fly 06-18-2004 08:52 PM

He should try and get a guaranteed title run, like Taker had in his contract.

Innovator 06-18-2004 09:26 PM

yeah and then they can pull the Kane on him, a nice long solid 24 hour title reign.

Hired Hitman 06-18-2004 11:47 PM

They NEED you Rob, have a title clause or something :shifty:

FourFifty 06-19-2004 12:09 AM

<font color=cyan>If RVD doesn't sign, I'm gonna cry like a little girl.

LK 06-19-2004 03:22 PM

*Prays that RVD signs contract*

Joe Kerr 06-19-2004 03:33 PM

HHHsucks929 06-19-2004 05:52 PM

Rob sahould get something in the fine print along the lines of a title reign. When you get pushed less on the much le--spopular show, there's soemthing wrong. RVD is being mismanaged badly and I would understand if he left, although it wouldn't make sense to go anywhere else... Except TNA. *knock on wood*

Kane Knight 06-19-2004 06:20 PM

RVD should set his contract to expire on 4-20.

That way, if he ever wants out, all he needs to do is blaze one...

I don't think RVD is one to save his blazing for April 20th.

That's exactly what always happens with RVD in the WWE, funyn though, in any other organisation he would be a main eventer all the time. :shifty:

Mr. JL 06-20-2004 01:57 PM

Rob Van Dam has been one of my favourite wrestlers ever since I accidently caught ECW on TNN one Friday Night a long long time ago. Since then I've managed to see his work in ECW & Japan & his current WWE run.

All I have to say is..

ECW/Japan > WWE

I'd rather see him go out in the indies and help build NWA: TNA. It would be great. He would be a great addition. Rob Van Dam is the only reason why I even watch the WWE anymore. Since he's left RAW for Smack Down, I've only seen RAW once or twice.

It would be sick to see RVD feud with Sabu once again on NWA: TNA TV. What about the possible reunion of the RVD/Lynn feud? Also the matchup of RVD & AJ Styles. I'd start coughing up $10 bucks for NWA: TNA's weekly PPV if I knew I'd see RVD there.

This can easily be said for a whole bunch of talent that the WWE misused when they acquired them (Ultimo Dragon, Sean O'Haire, Jericho, Rhyno, Booker T, Tajiri, etc.). They could easily put on great matches in TNA where their true talent would be featured, they would get steady t.v. time, and could be involved in some great feuds. It is wishful thinking that any misused wrestler in the WWE could jump ship and be a star in another promotion, but these guys make pretty good money in the WWE, and to be in the most recognized wrestling promotion in the world is nothing to sneeze at. These guys don't/didn't get a chance to shine because either Vince must not like them, he doesn't think they deserve a push, or HHH said so.

:nono:

Ferocious 06-20-2004 11:57 PM

I have some news about RVD, I still don't like him as a wrestler.

c4g2 06-21-2004 02:01 AM

Well RVD can put on quite sick moves (Van Daminator :?:, Rolling Thunder), and I hear people here saying that RVD's the man when he's a heel. Why not let him try out as a heel, and if he still sucks, release him?

[/:-\]

Gone Mad 06-21-2004 02:21 AM

RVD should stay but then again he can go to TNA and wrestle Jerry Lynn every week. That would be awesome, just like the good ol' days. Or is it that doesn't want to wrestle now anyways? Didn't he say something along those lines acouple of months ago (even if it was a couple of months ago and plans can change)?

big_bluto 06-21-2004 05:26 AM

Can I take this opportunity to re-iterate my thoughts on
R V D
He is the man!
Give him a contract until he's older than Flair, gets paid more than HHH, and turn him heel and feud him with Eddie!

Less talk, more signing!

c4g2 06-21-2004 05:38 AM

That'll take like, say 20 years? And Eddie would be Eddie Classic by the time RVD is old and highly paid....

RVD will take 18 years to win the World Heavyweight Championship, just like Benoit. :-\

And Eddie would be like Chavo Classic and win the Cruiserweight title and get fired from the WWE just because HHH prevented him from arriving at a house show.

YEAR 2022:
RVD v HHH for WWE Title
The match is drawing to an exciting conclusion.....
RVD hits the rolling thunder in his farting wheelchair, HHH is sleeping on his back in the centre of the ring.
RVD gets the wheelchair into the corner and climbs to the top rope, the crowd are going mental, RVD sets up the finisher....

Five-star Frogsplash......CRACK!

JR: BAH-GAWD..*wheeze*......RVD-GOD-DAMN-BROKENHIP...*wheeze*....BBQSAUCE
King:..............puppies?............I've peepee'd. :(

NONE OF THIS MATTERS AS LONG AS RVD GETS THE TITLE!

Rob Van Dam

I think RVD should claim he has a pending deal with NWA-TNA to get more money and a guranteed title run from WWE. Because if he didn't sign with them NWA Would definitly sign him.

That was almost a good post.
Except that Vince would just probably go....okay...see ya.
MUST NOT HAPPEN!

HankScorpio 06-21-2004 11:06 AM

If RVD re-negotiated his contract I think all he'd ask for is a Lava-lamp and a years supply of Oreo's
