Rico out for 8-12 weeks

I read on pwinsider.com that Rico would have surgery and be out for 8-12 weeks.

I think this is the perfect time to push Haas. Not as a heel but as a babyface.

Smackdown been so busy creating heels like JBL,Mordecai,Kenzo,Jindrak,Luther and they brought over Dupree and Booker. They forgot that the heels need opponents.

I would put Haas in a fued with Dupree,Show or Mordecai.

I think Haas should go on a winning streak.

Mayo 06-19-2004 12:37 PM

Well this explains why the titles changed hands on Smackdown this past week. I liked Rico and Haas as champs, but now this should lead to a Haas push. I hope that Jackie stays with him, and I can see them together similarly to the Stacy/Test alliance. The only difference is that Haas is a great wrestler, and hopefully will not end up like Test :(

I don't think that Haas should feud with Mordecai because a loss would be no good for either of them. Haas beating Big Show would be nice, and a feud with Dupree would be great to watch. I would even have him feud with Cena or Booker T in the coming months.

I'm a little less outraged now.

A littl.e but the DUDLEY BOYS? Jesus!

Meanwhile, the WWE has been pushing a lot of Heels because there were almost NONE on Smackdown.

I think that they decided to transition the belts quickly once they realized, in match, that Rico was hurt and hurt bad.

Hollywood Red 06-19-2004 05:30 PM

Surgery, but surgery for what? I heard he looked hurt after the match, but I don't see what could've caused the injury and I hadn't hurt about him working through an injury prior to the match.

Disturbed316 06-19-2004 05:46 PM

I wish I had chops like Rico's :'(

They should have given them to the ref and Luther...It'd make a more entertaining tag-team.

He looked injured in part of the match too, but I wrote it off as him trying to sell something I'd missed. I didn't catch all the match, so I didn't know...

Oxstar 06-19-2004 07:34 PM

Damn i will miss Rico he's my fav Smackdown wrestler:D

Corkscrewed 06-20-2004 03:29 AM

Well that sucks, but if they give the Dudleys the belt and have them be vicious and stay vicious, I think they can be entertaining again. They're super stale as faces, but I've always though they've been magnificent heels. This is assuming the writers don't drop the ball with the tag division for the 10,585,286,984th time.

Cooler Tom Schuler 06-20-2004 03:38 AM

I think that Rico will enjoy the time off, despite the injury. I mean, he's not only been busting his ass for months, but the asses of many others as well.

c4g2 06-20-2004 04:36 AM

I love Rico

Rico's the man. :D

Mikey 06-20-2004 06:34 AM

WTF on Velocity. they said Haas and Rico are getting a rematch on SD this week

I hope Rico gets better soon though.

Anyone else know he is in his 40s?

c4g2 06-20-2004 06:39 AM

As long as Miss Jackie stays on TV I don't care what happens to Rico or Haas

FourFifty 06-20-2004 11:03 AM

AHHHH! DAMN! I like Rico, even before he turned face!
Keep Miss Jackie with Hass, maybe have a bit where she's trying to make him more flamboyant, and... and... I miss Rico :'(

Not sure just how old he is, but I do remember that he won the 2nd year of American Gladiators, which was 1990, and he was probably at least 24-25 then, so add 14 years and he is probably close to the big 4-0.

Fox 06-20-2004 03:34 PM

LOL!

American Gladiators

Londoner 06-20-2004 08:08 PM

I saw the match when i flicked overto velocity and noticed him grabbing his leg after throwing a punch andn he fell down, it made him look kinda stupid but they managed to get till the end of the match without it really being noticed, looked like a freak accident kinda thing.

Joe Kerr 06-21-2004 01:18 PM

We have been told that Rico will be getting surgery on his hamstring in the coming weeks and will need to take some time off.

Although we do not have a time frame of when he will return, we have heard that he'll miss at least 3-4 months.

We'll keep you posted.
