Tough shit mine is for Play by Play if anyone will do it because I can't watch.

Ferocious 06-27-2004 06:48 PM

Like the save?

Favre4Ever 06-27-2004 06:56 PM

nice ferocious.

Two of my favorites -

Armageddon 2000- 6 man HIAC! Lots of story elements for everyone pumped into this one, albeit it ended with a cheap cover by Angle.

Royal Rumble 2000- TLC Match. Austins second RR win, setting up he and the Rocks second Wrestlemania encounter. Kane lasted for like the entire thing, was the last man austin threw out.

Yes 2000 was indeed a great year.

That is very wrong... First of all, it was a Tables match between the Dudleys and Hardyz... Secondly, Rock won the Rumble throwing out Show... You just combined like 3 PPVs :wtf:

Wondermouse 06-27-2004 07:14 PM

GAB 89.

#1-norm-fan 06-27-2004 07:14 PM

WrestleMania X-7

Favre4Ever 06-27-2004 07:15 PM

your right, i'm wrong.......wow, thats hard to say. What I MEANT to say was RR 2001, the royal rumble that preceded Austin vs. Rock 2 at WM 17. I confused myself because after Armagedon 2000, it turns 2001, but because i'm a dumbass i didn't think about that.

LMAO I'm so tired I didnt notice that.

Such a schoolboy error.

Wrestlemania X7

As much as it hurts me to say it the only actual match I got into at Invasion was RVD vs Jeff

[/Someone who has now distinguished himself as a complete and utter jobber indefinately]

I enjoyed Tazz/Tajiri alot
I liked the main event alot and Kidman Xpac was watchable

If I put it in nowadays though I would probably agree with you since I can hardly stomach WWE anymore.

#1-norm-fan 06-27-2004 07:29 PM

I loved RVD vs. Jeff

The Inaugral Brawl was pretty good

jindrak 06-27-2004 07:36 PM

This may surprise people, but my fav PPV was/still is WCW Spring Stampede 99. :wtf:

Let me now explain--> This particular PPV featured tremendous wrestling action from the bottom of the card to the top. While 99' does indicate the waning of WCW, this PPV indicated that WCW was going to change...for the better.

Now, I know this is debatable, but each match on that card told a story through wrestling. Thinking about it now, I forgot more than half of the card, but I remember the sentiments I had after watching what I thought was a terrific PPV. WCW was turning the from the lowly corner they were in at the time. I remember anticipating the direction WCW was heading, but unfortunately that direction was halted once Nash took over the books. :nono: Another what if question. :-\

Mr. JL 06-27-2004 07:40 PM

Yeah, the only reason I even got Invasion was for the Jeff Hardy V. Rob Van Dam match.

Tajiri V. Taz was another good match

Kidman V. X-Pac was good too

And I did enjoy Edge & Christian V. Storm & Awesome

Everything else was meh

Xero 06-27-2004 07:56 PM

I'd say WrestleMania 2000... Some great matches there... The Ladder Match, Main Event, and Benoit/Angle/Jericho were great... The 15 Man Hardcore Battle Royal was enjoyable aswell...

Mr. Nerfect 06-27-2004 08:15 PM

My favourites were the early 2001 PPVs (RR, NWO and WMX7).

Jeffhardyfav4life 06-27-2004 08:18 PM

My favorite PPV(S): 99 Wcw starcade..... i must have watched that tape till it wore out! scott hall and his tazer..... 2001 Royal rumble.... and of course *going back many many many moons here* Wrestlemaina 1.......

LK 06-27-2004 08:22 PM

Wrestlemania 17 which had tlc 2, Angle vs Benoit and Rock vs Austin and Wrestlemania 19 which had Jericho vs Michaels, Hulk Hogan vs McMahon, Austin vs Rock and Lesnar vs Angle.

If you're talking about Hall costing Goldberg the title to Nash, that was Starcade 1998.

um, you say you watched that tape many times...Nash won that match to end the unbeatem streak of Goldberg, thus Goldberg became 174-1 at that point.

Favre4Ever 06-27-2004 08:42 PM

LARA EMILY RETURNS!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

ilt_undertaker 06-27-2004 08:46 PM

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST CARDS EVER and I AM SO HAPPY TO SAY THAT I HAVE IT ON TAPE.

1st Match: CLASSIC CRUISERWEIGHT #1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH
Juvi def. Blitzgrieg
I give this match ***** 5 STARS!
It was amazing, with so many crazy spots and great moves. Lucha Libre for sure.

2nd Match: Bam Bam Bigelow def. Hak (The Sandman) in a Hardcore Match. Hak climbed on top of a stagecoach that was part of the set and did a flip off of it onto Bam Bam who was on a table AND that was in the first minute of the match. **** 4 Star Hardcore match, many weapons were included.

I forget the rest of the order but it had a shitter in Mikey Whipwreck vs Scotty Riggs but came right back with classic contests between.....

Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko vs Saturn & Raven. ***** I forgets who wins but it was a great match. This match was supposed to be for the WCW World Tag Team Titles but Saturn & Raven cost Benoit & Malenko the titles on Nitro 6 days before to the two men who would face off for the WCW Cruiserweight Title........

Rey Mysterio Jr. (without mask) def. Billy Kidman via top robe bulldog. ********** INCREDIBLE CONTEST. The best spot is where ReyRey does a spinning headscissors on Kidman on the outside of the ring and coming down ReyRey hit his head on the steel steps (for real) and he shows his emotion by kicking the steps violently.

Konnan def. (nWo Wolfpac) Disco Inferno in a good match, very good quality. Konnan hit the 187 but couldn't put Disco away with it. Disco had small comeback followed up by Konnan using the "Last Dance/Chartbuster" aka Stone Cold Stunner (which was Disco's move) on Disco and got the 1, 2, 3. ***

For the VACANT WCW United States Championship (Tournament Final)
Scott Steiner def. WCW Television Champion Booker T via pinfall and help froma golden spike to the throat. Steiner (who was way on riods) was arguing with the crowd for 5 minutes before the match started. Good match, Steiner still had skill. *** *1/2

Goldberg def. Kevin Nash w/ Lex Luger and Elizabeth in a Revenge from Starrcade match. BORING. I hate both. * Goldberg gets revenge on Nash.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship Match
Randy "Macho Man" Savage: Special Guest Referee.
Diamond Dallas Page def. (Champion) WCW President "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Sting by pinning Flair. This is where WCW's problem was. The year was 1999 and these 5 are still in the MAIN EVENT? Guys like Booker T, Chris Benoit, Raven and Jericho should be in the top spots. Beating guys like Hogan, Macho and Flair. Getting over. But WCW stayed with and failed with these 5 aging dinosaurs. The match was good for what it was. Hogan injured his knee during the match so it went to a Triple Threat where DDP won after help from Macho's elbow on Flair. ***

A VERY GOOD PPV. GREAT CRUISERWEIGHT AND TAG TEAM ACTION. MID CARD WAS SLAMMIN!

But at last the best PPV was WRESTLEMANIA X7

91 06-27-2004 10:13 PM

A ten star match? There's a first.

Anyway, I'm not sure to be honest. Possibly WM X7 (solid card from top to bottom), possibly WM 10 (two ***** matches), possibly WM 12 (all time favourite match and it takes up practically the entire show), possibly Survivor Series 96 (always had a soft spot for that card). And I've never seen Bash 89, but if I ever have any money...

By the way, I thought Invasion was OK. Half the matches were good or, in the case of Van Dam/Hardy and possibly the main, very good, but the fact the event was only OK was the main criticism, as an event of that magnitude should have been the greatest extravaganza ever, not just "OK".

The Icon of Elisim 06-27-2004 10:57 PM

Survivor Series 1998, non of the wrestling really stands out in my mind but I loved how the whole card flowed and told a story. Plus we got Rock-Shamrock, Kane-Undertaker, Mankind-Rock, Undertaker-Rock and SCSA-Mankind all in one night.

Batsu 06-28-2004 02:50 AM

Wrestlemania X-7...the final culmination of WWE's last place on top, eating the spoils of the Attitude Era. Wrestlemania 2000 probably might have done that if Stone Cold wasn't injured...but then, the last time the WWE product was its own on a major PPV with all its top superstars (Angle, HHH, Rock, SCSA, Undertaker, Benoit, Jericho et al)...was at WM X-7. Undertaker-HHH was a great feud...and the only feud with Taker since I've really liked is the on-again off-again Undertaker-Cena feud.

lariat 06-28-2004 08:21 AM

In Your House: Canadian Stampede, WrestleMania X-7 and Royal Rumble 2000 are my personal favorites.

big_bluto 06-28-2004 09:30 AM

Survivor Series 02.

Brilliant PPV with every match being well above average standard.

Aussie Skier 06-28-2004 11:29 AM

My favourite card was wrestlemania 19.
It was, as Triple H said, the end of an era.
You saw guys like Austin, Rock, (possibly Angle) finishing off their careers and the beggining of new careers.

I also loved the card with the 6 man Hell in a cell...That was sweet!
Recently:
I enjoyed wrestlemania 20, and i really liked survivor series '03, as well as summerslam '03

Triple A 06-28-2004 03:48 PM

Survivor Series 2003- Don't know why, just because all the shit happens on this ppv

John la Rock 06-28-2004 05:17 PM

Wrestlemania XX
Wrestlemania X8 (cause I was there live and because of Rock/Hogan
Wrestlemania X-Seven
Wrestlemania XIV
Summerslam 2002
Summerslam 2000
Royal Rumble 2000
Vengence 2003
Halloween Havoc 1998
Starcade 1997
