WWE Violates Their Own Policy

I got a quick laugh from this; taken from 1wrestling.com:

WWE apparently disregarded their own stated policy with
the finish of tonight's Great American Bash pay-per-view.

The show ended with the "death" of Paul Bearer as he was
buried alive in concrete. The Undertaker was portrayed as
the killer & pulled the lever that sent concrete pouring into
the crypt holding Paul Bearer. The show went off the air with
the apparent murder of Undertaker's former manager.

WWE currently has the following policy posted on wweparents.com:

"Actions you will not see WWE characters portray are murder,
rape or robbery."

The policy is posted under the "ratings" section, and is part
of a website designed to educate parents on whether or not
they should allow their children to watch WWE events

Jonster 06-28-2004 05:51 PM

You never saw the murder, I doubt he would've died straight away.

The Naitch 06-28-2004 05:53 PM

A few complain letters will hit Vince's inbox soon enough

Disturbed316 06-28-2004 06:01 PM

Plus Triple H raped a plastic doll a.k.a Stephanie :shifty:

And if you had cement poured down your throut, I'm sure you would die pretty quick, especially if its quick drying.

The CyNick 06-28-2004 06:03 PM

But this has happened many times in the past.

Al Wilson wasn't technically murdered, but he kinda was. And Kane all but killed Undertaker last year at the Survivor Series. I guess their rationale is that Taker was never dead (maybe he cant die) and he didn't really murder Paul Bearer, he actually..........well it look slike he murdered him.

As for rape, Hunter raped Stephanie.

Robbery....hmmm, there have been plent of thefts, robbery is thefts ugly cousin, so really they do that as well.

Disturbed316 06-28-2004 06:05 PM

OMG REPOMAN, HE ROBBED THINGS FROM PEOPLE!

If he kept his mouth shut, he would've survived until he ran out of air.

Ferocious 06-28-2004 06:07 PM

Also Bossman murdered Pepper, But I guess we didnt see it

Disturbed316 06-28-2004 06:09 PM

Could have gone in his nose :-\

I-Hate-You 06-28-2004 06:09 PM

Perhaps Paul will return in the near future but unless your Harry Houdini or Superman, I don't think that's going to happen.

HeartBreakMan2k 06-28-2004 06:14 PM

Eddie steals, and Kane raped a dead body. This isn't a first.

The Naitch 06-28-2004 06:17 PM

What about Katie Vick? And what about Hunter oogling the body in the coffin? Remember that shit? lol They cut it out in Canada, but in the states I hear he "fucked her brains out" and he throws green slime at the camera. lol

Shaggy 06-28-2004 06:27 PM

And lets not forget the suppose murder of Pepper or what ever the dog was called that Bossman cooked up for Snow. That was murder...and they also ate him on tv :shifty:

Xero 06-28-2004 06:29 PM

Didnt they also kill Pier, the moose head? Or was he just taken off TV?

And lets not forget about Head being the head of a woman! :shifty:

Jonster 06-28-2004 07:01 PM

And they've also killed numerous pushes and wrestlers.

Not literally mind.

Mayo 06-28-2004 07:13 PM

Well in the legal system, intent is the key thing to prove for a murder charge. The Undertaker definitely had intent to kill Bearer. Now did Bearer actually die? People could use common sense and reasoning to come to the conclusion that someone will die if they are placed in a crypt like that, since they would asphyxiate and die shortly thereafter. This can only mean that the Undertaker attempted to murder Bearer, and the attempt alone violates what the WWE has in their policy.

Dirtyunderweartaker 06-28-2004 07:16 PM

A LOT OF THE STORLINES THEY DO LIKE RAPE, WITH KATIE VIC, THE DON'T ACTUALLY SHOW THESE ACTIONS, THEY JUST LET THE VIEWERS IMAGINE THEM IN THEIR HEADS. THE SOPRANOS DOES THIS, WELL AT TIMES

UPDATE From 1wrestling.com:

Gary Davis (WWE Vice President, Corporate Communications) sent
the following to 1Wrestling.com in response to a story we posted
regarding the Undertaker/Paul Bearer storyline violating their policy
as stated at wweparents.com about the way their characters would
be portrayed:

"Last night's "Concrete Crypt Match" was similar in concept to the
"Buried Alive" matches of the past. No one was murdered. After the
The Great American Bash Pay-Per-View went off the air, the crowd
at The Scope in Norfolk saw Paul Bearer come up for air and then
placed on a stretcher to receive "medical attention." There will be
an update on Paul Bearer on this Thursday's WWE SmackDown!
Stay tuned."

LOL, they are so fucking stupid. Obviously Bearer wasn't really murdered at the GAB, but if you are a young kid seeing something like that on your tv at home, you will think that he actually did die. Same deal with buried alive matches; when someone got buried alive, you don't see them come back out of the grave, you assume they died. A young kid may think that this is cool, and proceed to bury one of his young friends alive, and the WWE has a lawsuit on their hands. Stupid WWE.

Corkscrewed 06-29-2004 08:59 PM

Actually, it would be pretty stupid to have "a medical update" on him... It'd be better to say that he was "destroyed" rather than "murdered" or something.

I dunno... it'd fit with the character more. :-\

Cooler Tom Schuler 06-29-2004 09:14 PM

Hey, you guys are all forgetting, Han Solo got out of the carbonite. What should stop Paul Bearer from escaping the cement?

The 120 pounds Paul Bearer has on Han Solo.

Cooler Tom Schuler 06-30-2004 01:24 AM

That's not weight, that's raw power bulging out.

No they're just going to wheel him out in cement and give him to a pregnant Stephanie Mcmahon.

Boondock Saint 06-30-2004 02:07 AM

So by having an update on him does that mean they'll say he's in a "medical facility" (why can't they say hospital) and that will be the last of it?

What they did was depict murder or mqake for a really stupid storyline. of course, when the WWE finds out that they're caught in their own lines, they'll jump to "retarded angle."

You mean besides the fact that this isn't Return of the Jedi?

The Mackem 06-30-2004 12:59 PM

They need more Star Wars influenced storylines.

Ferocious 06-30-2004 01:02 PM

Yeah they should have a pod race, My money would be on Bob Holly winning as he at least has some experience.

Kane Knight 06-30-2004 01:02 PM

But then the Darth Hunter captions would lose all effect.

Personally, I'd think RVD would win a pot race.

c4g2 07-01-2004 04:48 AM

Paul Bearer will return as Lita and Kane's adopted son after Lita botches her pregnancy. Mark my words.

I disagree....I feel that more characters need to be based on Ben Stiller movies. He's got about 16 this year so far, so it'd be easier for new guys coming in to pick and choose who they feel most comfortable playing....There could be a guy who throws dodgeballs at people, a guy who is jealous that Jericho stole his "Highlight Reel" idea, etc. The possibilities are endless!

Ok, I promise there won't be any more mention of Ben Stiller from me ever again.
