WWE Tag Team Formation
Yeah, I've been thinking about past wrestling tag teams which have formed from two singles guys, who were midcarders at best and had no past relationship with each other, that were thrown together and went on to become great tag teams. Teams that come to mind are New Age Outlaws, Jarrett/Owen, Kane/X-pac (believe it or not, they were pretty good IMO) Billy and Chuck, Hollywood Blondes (greatest of all-time.) etc...... You guys can post some more if you want.
Anyway, what I'm getting at, is that the tag divisions on Raw and Smackdown have been pretty lackluster lately with only a couple of "real" teams wrestling. London and Kidman could br great, but they won't last long as champs because there babyfaces. It's the heel teams that work well and stay as champs longer. Raw has LA Resistance as champs and they are the best possible team to hold the belts there. But, if I asked you to put together a team right now if two guys whom are really doing nothing, who would you choose. Do some for each show. Give them a name too, if you can think of one. Mine on Raw HBK/Jericho: This would be an intersting one and you could really go eathier way with them, heels or babyfaces. HBK needs to turn heel soon and go back to his "DX" type character. Jericho is a perfect "tag team guy" right now and I would use him in a tag team because he's not going anywhere as a singles wrestler. I would call them something like "The Highlight of the Night." I would like them more as heels though and I can see they getting tremendous heat from the crowd. Hardy/Kane: They need to do this to save the storyline. This would be an excellent heel team and I can see this working. Lita can manage them and I can see her as a more darker type chracter. It would be like an "odd couple" type pairing. They could get really dark music and call themselevs some kind of cultish name. Don't know though. Smackdown: Suzuki/Tajiri: I think they are making a mistake pushing Suzuki as a singles guy right now. His in ring skills aren't great, so you put him in a tag team and that covers it a little. Tag him with Tajiri for obvious reasons and keep the wife as manager. The translating thing works with her and they need to keep doing that in interviews with Suzuki. Chavo/Booker T w/Long as manager: Don't know why, but I see this working. Booker is doing nothing and will continue to do nothing as a singles wrestler. HE needs to be in a tag team. Chavo is a great heel to have and I see him as a great tag team guy too. BTW: After viewing the Smackdown Roster, god dam it sucks. They really don't have a lot of guys. |
Is Tajiri back on Smackdown already?

All teams need to wear matching outfits and have a "team name".
Raw: Maven/Val Venis A-Train/Test (yes, reform T & A... they could be managed by the new Raw Diva) Steven Richards/Chuck Palumbo Garrison Cade/Chuck Palumbo Steven Richards/Garrison Cade Mark Henry/Rosey Smackdown: Shannon Moore/Orlando Jordan (in a hip-hop dance team or 3 Count sort of team) Shannon Moore/Jamie Noble Shannon Moore/Scotty 2 Hotty Orlando Jordan/Scotty 2 Hotty Spike Dudley/Jamie Noble (imbred hick gimmick) Morcedai and the Bashams (Bashams as like the Acolytes) Morcedai/Hardcore Holly (Hardcore joins Morcedai's ministry) |
aw shit, I forgot Tajiri was on Raw. Meh, whatever.

If I could place any two people together in a Tag Team I would go with having Orlando Jordon jump to RAW and form tag with Randy (who drops Evolution...cause let's face it...Randy is mack and needs to move on...)

I've had about 1000 words here for possible RAW teams, but I got disconnected, so now I'm just gonna turn list my favourite, but I won't go into detail.
I think Rhyno & Steven Richards would make a great team. I've got ideas for finishers, name, attire, gimmick changes, etc. but I'm in a hurry so I might list them later. :y: |
On one of the Smackdown games I had the Rock and Jericho together. I called them "The People's Highlight"...I later used this team to create an anti-evolution with HBK as the past, Jericho as the present, Edge as the future, and the Rock as the enforcer.
Often I've thought about an HBK/Jericho team as well, because HBK's influence on Jericho really worked for their feud that lead up to WM XIX, so now that they're both faces (for the time being) it'd produce a bit of heat for them... but I still consider them both as main eventers (Jericho isn't really in the main event scene right now, but just because he's feuding with midcarders doesn't make him a midcarder himself.) and I hate it when they slap two main eventers together, so that'd probably not work anyway. Another tag team idea: Christian, after a long time away from ring action returns to the WWE a little loopy from watching too many daytime dramas and makes an appearance dressed as Kane (complete with a baldcap and all) and tries to convince Lita to sleep with him again. Kane hears about this and follows christian into the lockerroom, where christian begs for his life. Kane sees potential in the little guy (without speed, Kane is at a handicap.) so he uses christian's speed just as he did with RVD. It'd be a fun little team for a little while, and when Bischoff says something along the lines of "And your mystery opponent is none other than...." and Kane's pyro hits only to have Christian come out, that'd be funny too. |
