And the World has stopped

Orton has lost his belt. Can we please have a moment of silence and remember the past 7 months. These months will not be forgotten. Thank you Mr. Orton :'( :'( :'( :'(

Shadow 07-12-2004 12:07 AM

CEEEEEELABRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON!

Finnally they got that belt off of him. Now he can finnally go after the World title. Took him long enough to drop it as well.

RemyRed 07-12-2004 12:10 AM

It's funny how a guy can retain in every PPV except for the one where they base a promotional poster off of you. :(

James Steele 07-12-2004 12:11 AM

Orton had his push, now stick his ass on heat for eternity!! :shifty:

The CyNick 07-12-2004 12:11 AM

Horrible move IMO.

FK'N EDGE. FK'N BOOKING. FK'N WWE. NO FK'N RKO

Zen v.W.o. 07-12-2004 12:20 AM

...

Good. Screw randy. Put every belt on a canadian and you've got a good product.

Orton does shame to his family legacy.

The CyNick 07-12-2004 12:20 AM

Its really dumb because its not like he's going to get the World Title anytime soon (wont be till Mania).

He could have continued to get wins on guys like Edge (they could ahve made it a cheap win, to keep Edge's heat for HHH), Jericho and Benoit after he drops the World Title.

Only good that come of it is if Orton gets it back next month in say a Ladder Match. But then if they go in that direction, why even take the title off him in the first place?

Savio 07-12-2004 12:24 AM

Every belt is held by a Canadian!!!!

The One 07-12-2004 12:28 AM

:( Damn shame :(

I have no problem with people I like dropping titles, but people I like droping titles to wrestler's who are moderatly over = :n:.

Here's hoping Randy gets something good out of this...I would hope for Randy to go over Hunter coming up, but if I did that I might as well hope for the forecast tomorrow to be "Cloudy with a 99% chance of raining money."

I-Hate-You 07-12-2004 12:29 AM

I hope I don't pick up a paper or turn on the tv tommorrow and see a man went on a shooting spree because Randy Orton lost the IC title.

Savio 07-12-2004 12:30 AM

You won't have to wait, its on CNN now.

On December 14, 2003...a young man by the name of Randy Orton got the one up on then Champion Rob Van Dam to capture not only the Title, but also our imaginations. He gave way to a promising new future for the number one wrestling company in the world, and gave all fans a frash new era to live through. Randy Orton went on to hold that very same Intercontinental Championship for an incredible 209 days. He was wrongfully robbed of the oportunity to give to the belt, what he had given to the fans. We take this time to honor Randy Orton and his wonderful contributions to the Intercontinental Championship...and indeed the entire world of wrestling.

RemyRed 07-12-2004 12:52 AM

Did Randy rush in when Evolution came down to jump Benoit? I missed that part.

It was funny in my house. I was sitting in my room watching the ppv and when Orton got pinned I screamed out "NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and put my hands over my face. My dad and stepmom ran in thinking something bad happened to me. They came in and asked what happened and my little brother had to tell them that Orton lost.

It was a very sad moment tonight when he lost. He even had the crowd behind him for most of the match.

Nowhere Man 07-12-2004 01:12 AM

Ha! Now back to the midcard with you!

This title change makes no sense to me.

If Edge is going to be feuding with Triple H then they'll probably have a match at Summerslam. Am I wrong? And Triple H will never go for a midcard title again.

It leaves the door open for Randy to get a World Title shot, but after losing tonight it wouldn't make sense to push Randy into the main event just yet.

Don't know....

Seriously, though, as much as I love to rag on Orton, he was a good I-C Champ. However, it was high time he dropped the title (though I would have waited till Summerslam, and given it to Jericho)

Rob Conway is American, and Sylvain Grenier is Canadian. BTW, you could of at least called him French.

I thought you said he is Canadian. Why would I call him French?

Mr. Nerfect 07-12-2004 01:48 AM

Leading into Vengeance I was thinking "Randy should retain.", but now the PPV is over I'm thinking "Maybe it wasn't such a bad move.".

Edge is a credible threat to Evoluiton, and I think he could do more with the title than Orton. I would have pissed myself to see Orton run out during the part of the main event when Evolution (save Orton) and Eugene poured out to interfere, and RKO Triple H while Benoit is standing in position for one. Benoit would then cover, and Orton would rejoin Evolution on RAW when Triple H apoligizes for not being there for Orton.

I'm expecting either some kind of rematch or an Edge vs. Benoit match, just like the Ultimate Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan one at WrestleMania VI (I think). Who knows? Maybe the WWe is planning a Canadian Holocaust of RAW?

Transplant 07-12-2004 01:51 AM

Didnt Vinnie Mac make Benoit change his hometown? I mean, if your gonna refer to Conway as "Canadian" (even though its only in his Tag Team gimmick), you've gotta say something about benoit

I think (actually hope) the WWE gives HHH a rematch tommorow night on RAW. Then during the main event HHH gets RKO'ed by Orton and loses. Then the breakup occurs and we see HHH vs Orton at SS.

Nah, it's going to be a slow turn. Innovater just told me that Evolution, minus Orton, came out to help HHH in is match. So, it's pretty obvious HHH is going to be pissed at Orton for not being there. Well, I hope they do that. Shoud be fairly intersting. I say HHH and Orton have their match at Mania 21

Spoiler HHH wins.
