Gamecube RPG's - Can you name any?

I cant.

Well, according to IGN:

Camelot RPG
Dokapon DX
Evolution Worlds
Gold Star Mountain
Gothic
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life For Girls ( :wtf: )
Mage
Paper Mario GCN
Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II
Phantasy Star Online Episodes 1&2 Plus
Skies of Arcadia Legends
Summoner: A Goddess Reborn
Tales of Symphonia

Eh.

Ninti the Mad 12-27-2003 09:50 AM

That seems kinda sucky.

I wish the GC had better RPG's. This is why I like the PS2 better although I am going to stop leeching off my girlfriend's brother's GC and buy one of my own.

Zelda: The Wind Waker :?:

MrMeJW 12-27-2003 12:16 PM

I hear that Skies of Arcadia is a good game

Those are then one's that are pretty good, not great but you can play them a pretty long time before they bore you.

GBA has a handful of decent old-style RPG's, so get a Gameboy Player and get those.

Ninti the Mad 12-30-2003 03:46 PM

But I want RPG's for the GC.

Why does Nintendo neglect this area? They did the same on the N64.

Silent 12-30-2003 03:48 PM

Because most RPGs they have made without Squaresoft's help suck, and they know it.

Skies of Arcadia is an awesome game, and PSO is fun only if you have online.

Ninti the Mad 12-30-2003 03:58 PM

What about the other series' out there?

Square isnt the only developer out there. It's a shame.

Apocolyptik1 12-30-2003 08:03 PM

There was enix, that went far before it merged with Square....hah square puts people out of buisness. Capcom makes a decent rpg every now and again but I havent seen them do much lately.

Jonster 12-30-2003 08:13 PM

Lost Kingdoms 1 and 2 would count IMO, but I played 2, and it's not great

Doesnt Capcom do the 'Breath of Fire' series?

Anyway, they have a game on the PS2.

Apocolyptik1 01-02-2004 02:08 PM

Hmm wasnt sure about the Capcom making the breath of fire series, so I loaded some up on the ole emulator. Breath of Fire 1 shows a squaresoft logo, then it flashes to a screen where it says that Breath of Fire is a registered trademark to capcom. Someone else check there emulator and give me some insight onto this.

Lost Kingdoms 1 was basically a CCG. Maybe the second one was RPG-ish, but having a deck of cards does NOT count as an RPG.

Jonster 01-13-2004 08:25 PM

So would someone define an RPG for me then?
A definate description of one please :)

Kane Knight 01-14-2004 12:12 AM

Easier said than done.

However, considering the game is closer to "Magic: The Gathering Battleground," I'd say it's basically a digital collectible card game.

Ninti the Mad 01-14-2004 02:09 PM

Well, if you look at it from a broad perspective, just about every game is an RPG.

You assume the role of a character and do whatever it is the game is about.

:p

:p

Well, you don't really assume the role of any video game character.
