William Regal

Am I the only guy who thinks he rocks. I love his interviews, and I love his in ring style. It's so...unique. I remember like 2 or 3 years ago (2001-2002) when some people where talking about how he might be a WWE Champion one day...I think he is just aces in my book...too damn bad he got those parasites. :( Anyway the reason I write this is becuase I have noticed that some people have been taking a few cracks at him, why? Do YOU like Mr. Regal?

Hired Hitman 07-21-2004 05:24 PM

Yes, and where the bloody hell is his support, sunshine?

Disturbed316 07-21-2004 05:29 PM

I love Regal, his facial expressions crack me up.

Mike the Metal Ed 07-21-2004 05:34 PM

Despite the "demons" he's had in the past, he's a great worker, funny and English.

He's great.

Stickman 07-21-2004 05:44 PM

He's a very unique wrestler. I'd like to see him main eventing, but I don't think it will happen unless he starts doing some dangerous stuff in the ring. I'd definately be happy if he was champ.

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 05:46 PM

I don't like people who speak funny

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 05:46 PM

:shifty:

Mike the Metal Ed 07-21-2004 05:48 PM

Wot you on about. I'm offended, I am.

The One 07-21-2004 05:51 PM

I would love to see him win the Title...but he is British, so there goes that idea :(

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 05:53 PM

Seriously, I like Regal, especially when he plays a babyface and that is rare with me as I tend to like heels. Remember when Regal was a babyface right before joining the Alliance, he was the shit right there. He makes a good "Sticking up for the common good" type of babyface. I loved his segment this past Monday on Raw too.

.44 Magdalene 07-21-2004 05:55 PM

I thought it was funny as hell when he showed up on the last RAW and...well, you know. I never thought I'd be marking out for Regal, but stranger things have happened...

:y:

loopydate 07-21-2004 05:56 PM

William Regal is the man. He played the "Stiff-ass Brit" heel so well in WCW, and I've loved him as both a heel and a face in WWE. Personally, my favorite Eugene segments have been the ones with Regal, because the two had such funny chemistry.

I like seeing Regal being the one standing up to Evolution after what they did to Eugene. Hopefully this means that once he's back wrestling full-time he'll be an upper-midcarder. Regal would make a good World Champion, but I don't think WWE will ever let him get above the IC range, which is still fine by me.

His in-ring style is so different than anyone else on the roster, it's always refreshing to watch a William Regal match.

The One 07-21-2004 06:07 PM

He has gone through a weird evolution...

He started out as Lord Steven Regal...wow...a LORD in the British court...then he became a Man's Man ("He's a man...Such a MAAAAAAN!"...god I loved that entrance music in the WWF) and then he went back to be a Lord, then came to WWF and got demoted down to Sir. William Regal...ouch. I didn't realise once you were given Lordship it could be taken back...anyway now he is a "Speacial" person's babysitter....quite a long trip down from Lord indeed. :D

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 06:08 PM

I say they bring back KOTR and he becomes "King" Regal the 1st

Regal is the man. He can play a face and a heel to perfection and his in ring abilities are top notch.

Wildcat789 07-21-2004 06:18 PM

William Regal = Underrated. His ring work is good, he is hilarious on the mic, he makes the best faces, and him beating the ass out of Trips was classic.

Here's to our Goodwill Ambassador.

MVP 07-21-2004 06:30 PM

Who's been taking shots at Regal?

He's the man, better than most of the lackluster talent that's put in the ring.

HankScorpio 07-21-2004 06:34 PM

When Eugene came into the WWE I was seriously uninterested, but as soon as I saw Reagal return I nearly Creamed myself.

Reagal is without a doubt a hilarious charcter, and always puts on really good matches. I love that zany Brit.

The One 07-21-2004 06:48 PM

Since only two of the pictures worked  Loosey or Funky could you deleat this please?

Joe Kerr 07-21-2004 06:58 PM

I dont see Regal getting the title. Is he still having problems with nose bleeds?

To bad about Nowinski I thought Regal and Nowinski were a great team.

Dave Youell 07-21-2004 06:58 PM

Everyone says that he's unique, to the WWE yes, but it's because of his world of sport ITV saturday roots. Personally I love world of sport and am glad to see something different on WWE TV for a change. I just don't feel that he's that over. In canada and the uk yes, but the USa he just doesn't seem to be liked

LK 07-21-2004 07:03 PM

I was wondering that too MVP. I haven't ever seen anyone taking shots at him before.

The One 07-21-2004 07:03 PM

Are you kiding me Youell. Regal was one of the most over guys when he arrived. And when he was in the Un-Americans (yes it was stale,) but he was MEGA over as a heel. And now look at him, as a babyface sideing with Eugene he is great. People get behind him, bottom line.

That pretty much echoes my sentiments. He's a master of the subtle aspects of acting, and his British style of wrestling is a refreshing change.

Mayo 07-21-2004 07:21 PM

Regal is pretty funny whenever he gets on the mic. His in-ring style is a bit slow, but I do enjoy watching his matches as well. I loved the segments when he was commissioner Regal (like when Jericho pissed in his tea)

Mr. Nerfect 07-21-2004 07:27 PM

William Regal is one of my favs indeed. :y:

I literally mark out like a little school girl over the teacher when I see Regal getting angry (when he's a face). I was just waiting for Regal to start going "Now listen to me sunshine!" in regards to Eugene.

Regal's style is interesting, not to mention the fact that he can get over and can play the face/heel roles. Don't forget how he didn't get knocked back by Triple H or Kane in his respetcive matches with them. Definate possibility of main event talent (in my opinion).

One of my fondest moments in wrestling is when I watched an episode of SmackDown! (on a lovely Saturday morning in 2000), taped in Little Rock, Arkansas (I think). Coincidentally this was my first WWE viewing, and I just couldn't stop laughing at the William Regal segment. I'm pretty sure William Regal was European Champion at the time. The Rock cut a promo on Regal, stating how he would out of American goodwill, he would shove something-or-rather up William Regal's candy ass. Regal's facial expression was priceless. Me and my cousin still have chuckles about it. Good times. :'(

EazyMack 07-21-2004 07:45 PM

He's always been one of my favorites.

Jonster 07-21-2004 07:59 PM

I've always liked William Regal.

I went to a house show in Birmingham a while back, while he was a heel, and he came out to do a promo.
He was saying something like "It's great to be back in England, where I'm from, etc" and the fans were cheering, and then he goes like "Because it reminds me how great I am, as everyone here is a loser; who, unlike me, has never achieved their dreams and never will."

He waited while the crowd booed, and as they were quietening I shouted out "I never achieved my dreams!"

Alas, he didn't continue even though it looked like he was gonna :(

I-Hate-You 07-21-2004 08:17 PM

I was hoping that "REGAL" chant would have been alot louder on RAW Monday when he beat the hell out of Triple H.

The Mackem 07-21-2004 08:21 PM

I always thought that being a fellow Brit I was being biased but seriously can you remember a truely awful Wiliam Regal match or segment?

The man is gold.

The Mackem 07-21-2004 08:22 PM

"That wasn't bloody funny"

ColdwaVer 07-21-2004 09:08 PM

Regal owns and Eugene would never have gotten over so fast and so thoroughly without him.

I just realised I should apologise to anyone who was at that, and may have been disapointed, possibly, as a result of my actions.
Erm, sorry.

Favre4Ever 07-21-2004 09:32 PM

All of Regals moves look really unique, and I attribute it to the fact that he does everything left-handed.

-What ever happened to the Regal Stretch?

-Remember in 2001-2002 when Edge and Regal were feuding over the IC title? Guess what Edge is still doing?

-Bring back the brass knuckles!! I would have gone crazy if he pulled those on Evolution during that brawl.

-I will opt to completely forget that entire Duchess of Queensbury incident.

To be fair, he DID miss 14 months of action in there.

Aussie Skier 07-22-2004 12:30 AM

Yeah, Regal is awesome!

He was a brilliant heel, but I always knew he'd b a great face too. like when he was commisoner, talking to DDP and Kanyon (I think)

"I'm gonna put you in a match with the undertaker and kane, oh, sorry, i forgot to mention, it will be in a steel cage too."
hehehe

altho, i think i might b getting confused with when foley said a similar thing to edge and Christian

Funky Fly 07-22-2004 01:56 AM

Regal = Ratings

Hired Hitman 07-22-2004 03:48 AM

William Regal was the best European Champion... Because he was European

James Steele 07-22-2004 03:52 AM

William Regal is just plain and simple:

FUCKING AWESOME.

Enough Said.
