Yeah, I'm a little jelous here

So, I'm browsing the Web looking for King of the Ring 93 to buy and I come across these lovely DVD packs which seem to only be available in the UK  They're called "Tagged Classics" and this website "Silvervision," which most of you UK'ers probably know, has a whole bunch of them. Check it out.

http://www.silvervision.co.uk/catego...W11R5YVB84TV05

They have other ones available too. Yeah, so I go on ebay and see what the U.S. price would be for one of these packs and it's like only 12 bucks. Get the fk out of here.

Does anybody know if these DVD's will work on American DVD players. Cause if they do, I'm buying. But shipping would probably cost a shit load of money I would assume.

Kane Knight 07-21-2004 04:42 PM

anyone else think this was gonna be announcing that he lost the "Give Randy Orton Head" contest?

;)

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 04:43 PM

^^Fires a Ban Cannon.

Ferocious 07-21-2004 04:43 PM

Silvervision produce all the WWE related VHS and DVD's in the UK. Great Company, wish theyd drop the store prices on first release

The One 07-21-2004 04:44 PM

That what I was thinking :shifty:

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 04:45 PM

**Botches Ban Cannon...again.

Yeah so do these DVD's work on US DVD players you think?

The One 07-21-2004 04:52 PM

Yeah as much as I enjoy the blowjob jokes, seriously do UK DVDs work on American players???

loopydate 07-21-2004 04:57 PM

I don't think so. Aren't UK DVDs in PAL format as opposed to the US' NTSC?

Xero 07-21-2004 04:58 PM

Only if you have a multi-regions player... Most big companies dont have them... If you have a DVD Drive/player for your PC, I believe you can get programs which open up all regions... Not sure though...

I'd fucking love to have these... I'd buy a complete set of all the PPVs, too...

Loose Cannon 07-21-2004 05:06 PM

yeah, I think your right loopy. It's only a European format. Dammit. Gonna go demand to Silvervision that they start producing some USA formatted ones.

The One 07-21-2004 05:16 PM

Anyone know where I can pick up a European DVD player at??? :D

HankScorpio 07-21-2004 05:29 PM

There is no difference with the format, its only the region code. As most DVD's are released in America first they don't usually bother to put a code restriction on US DVD players, but, if your player does have a code restriction you can easily get a code crack for 90% of DVD players on the internet, by typing your players product code and region crack.

whenever I have visited friends in the states or canada I have taken British DVDs with me and they have played fine.

hmmm, OneLameGunn just gave me some hope. I think I'm going for it and making the purchase.

Actually, I'll email Silvervision and ask them :y:

Ricky 07-21-2004 07:29 PM

If your DVD player will play region 2 DVD's or you have a multi-region DVD player then it should be fine. I have the Best of Raw Vol. 1 & 2 on DVD which is region free and even though the picture is in NTSC format it plays fine.

Actually, you could go to Wal-Mart & buy a DVD player by a company called Apex. I know they make their players with a region switch, so you can switch between NTSC/PAL/Region-Free by pressing a button on the remote. They usuallly run about 40$. That's the DVD player I have, I bought it about 1 ½ - 2 years ago & I havn't had one hiccup from it yet :)

The Ravishing One 07-22-2004 03:43 PM

I actually think the Tagged classic DVD's are region free.

Loose Cannon 07-22-2004 03:58 PM

OKay, I think my DVD PLayer plays all regions so I'm good. Now I just have to find a site where I can order these things by card that will ship to the U.S.A.

Cause I have a feeling if I send a personal check through ebay to the UK, my check will probably end up in the Atlantic Ocean or something. lol. I just don't see it making it there.

Ricky 07-22-2004 04:09 PM

Okay then :p

Maybe because he's English and it's an English DVD? (He IS English, isnt he?)

Loose Cannon 07-22-2004 04:19 PM

No, I mean like I can see that happening, not that I read it or anything.

About $27.62, according to xe.com's Universal Currency Converter.
